The moon hung high in the sky when I finally stumbled back towards the tavern. The festival was still raging, but the music and laughter faded with every step I took away from the town square. The tavern, tucked away in a quiet corner of the island, was shrouded in a peaceful darkness.

My room was on the second floor, but the climb posed no challenge. I ascended with the agility of a seasoned thief, my movements silent and fluid. None of the elves stirred as I slipped back into my bed, the remnants of the night's adventure clinging to me like a sweet perfume.
