"You look great, Ronan!" Minerva chirped as he came to pick her up for the spring festival.
Ronan's eyes swept over Minerva as she emerged, admiring her appearance too. "Thanks," he muttered, uncomfortable with the compliment. He wasn't accustomed to receiving praise and it always made him uneasy. He had a habit of scaring off anyone who tried to compliment him.
Minerva's mocking tone cut through his thoughts. "Golly gee, Minerva, you look gorgeous too!" she said, clearly reminding him of the social niceties he had missed.
Ronan chuckled, "Sorry, I should've said that too. You do look great, Minerva."
She linked her arm with his, raising an eyebrow. "Why do I feel like you're only taking me to make your mate jealous?"
Ronan shifted uncomfortably. "That is simply not true," he said, but he knew deep down that there was some truth to it. He had invited Minerva partly to provoke Sophia, especially after overhearing Matthew's actions the other night.
