Chapter 55: A Living Target

Jidenna clenched his fist, his fingers digging into his palms.

"So you better be careful with money or background, don't flaunt yourself or parade around."

The creaking of the door brought them both out of their aggressive stance.

Their heads snapped toward the door at the same time. Jidenna's face remained the same, but Cheng Yuan's relaxed in slight relief.

"I forgot something…" It was his strange seatmate at the door.

She announced, her eyes and mouth open. She blinked rapidly, her face sporting a sliver of shock at their confrontational appearance before making her way inside.

Cheng Yuan turned around, donning an amicable smile like he had never just threatened Jidenna. "Okay, Student—" his eyes rolled about to say Jidenna's name but stopped.

"I'll see you later. Remember to submit on time." With that, the same way he came, he turned around and walked away, humming a cheerful tune under his breath.
