Chapter 96: HACKED

I reviewed Angela's laptop logs with meticulous attention, scanning through every detail and scrutinizing each access attempt. The logs were clear—no signs of hacking, no suspicious activity. Everything seemed normal, at least on the surface.

Yet, despite the clean slate, my gut was telling me something different. There was an unsettling feeling gnawing at me, a sense that Angela was somehow involved, even if her laptop didn't show it. The way she reacted when she saw me, her quick escape—it all seemed a bit too calculated.

I closed the laptop, turning to face Angela. "The logs don't show anything unusual, but I can't shake the feeling that something isn't right."

Angela looked at me, her eyes wide with a mixture of fear and confusion. "I swear, Max, I don't know what's going on. I've been here working late just like I said."
