Chris stood there, feeling a whirlwind of thoughts spiraling in his mind as Damien's words barely registered. "That explains why she's been avoiding you. She probably found out about your connection to me and doesn't trust you."

But Chris wasn't really listening. His mind was stuck on something else, something that had been nagging at him ever since the fun fair. Ryan. The little boy with the bright blue eyes. Chris had brushed off the familiar feeling at first, thinking it was nothing more than a fleeting sense of déjà vu. But now, with everything Damien had just revealed, the pieces of the puzzle started to fall into place, and the picture they formed was troubling.
