[Replicate]
Ability to 'Replicate' skills when you have sufficient understanding of the target.
Additional: Each correctly replicated skill receives a 10x improvement.
"... WTH?!"
Kane could not contain his astonishment when he read the description of the skill.
A unique skill that improves ten times by replicating another skill! It was so absurd that it effortlessly broke the game's balance.
"Ha..." Kane was stunned and put a hand to his head. He couldn't believe his eyes at this moment. 'A skill that allows me to replicate other skills and improve them ten times... this never appeared in the game,' he thought as he exhaled long, trying to regain his composure and calm his mind.
For all he knew about [Hero's Genesis], there was "none" ability that allowed replicating or copying other skills, as it would easily break the game's balance.
'Will this be the benefit of transmigration?' Kane sketched a faint smile as he muttered silently.
Despite the surprise, he couldn't be more pleased; with this ability, he would easily avoid the death flag. With a smile he couldn't disguise, he repeatedly checked the description of the unique ability 'Replicate' to ensure he had read it right.
"Hehehe~ I really have an amazing ability," he said, as his mood improved considerably after reading the description several times.
Finally, he turned his attention to his stats.
---
Strength: 2
Agility: 3
Endurance: 2
Mana: 0
Additional stat points: 5
---
"What low numbers..." Kane sighed. "No wonder the original Kane died in the first scenario." Though his sigh grew long, he shifted his gaze to look at the five extra stat points. He was thinking about what to do with them.
After careful thought, he decided not to spend them for now. He closed the status window and left the bed to sit at the desk.
Here are several items: an ID card, a smartphone, a laptop, a notebook, and some college books.
'Looks like he was also a college student like me...' He thought as he looked at the college books.
He knew very little about Kane, as he was a character who died too quickly in the game. The information available about him was limited. The only thing he knew, thanks to the Wiki, was that Kane had a mother and a younger brother. The rest was a mystery.
Kane picked up the phone and looked at the date. January 29, 2022. 'Two days to go before I am summon to the first scenario of the game.' He thought.
He remembered very well that the [Hero's Genesis] game was starting to unfold on February 1 with the summoning of the world's protagonist.
Kane tapped the desk rhythmically with his index finger as he muttered, "Hmm, looks like I need to gear up fast and get a few levels up so I can at least survive."
Lost in thought, he brought his hand to his chin to support himself and sighed a while later. "With two more days, I could fully prepare myself to survive without risking too much. I have to do some tests of the skill to familiarize myself with it, so I don't improvise."
"Well, there's no time for regrets. I have to level up and get a trait." He stood up once he had a clear idea about what to do but suddenly looked at a notebook and sat down again.
This time, he began to write a preliminary plan of what he should do in the first scenario that started the story of this world.
Several minutes later, Kane finished writing his plan, and after several more adjustments while thinking about the different possible scenarios, he smiled in satisfaction.
'There is no perfect plan, so thinking through all the scenarios is the right way to go.' Satisfied with the result, he got back up to get ready.
Five minutes later, Kane finished getting ready...
He wore a thigh-length black coat trimmed with gold crowns, matching black pants, and Air Jord*n "Black Cat" shoes. He opened the bedroom door before exiting.
The hallway was dark, as sunlight came in, limitedly, through the window at the end. Kane quickly descended the stairs and exited the apartment before receiving the sun's brightness.
"Did you see the sky this morning? It was so clear, not a cloud in sight."
"Yes, it was beautiful. It's been a while since we've had a day like that."
"I took the opportunity to take a walk in the park. The fresh air always makes me feel refreshed."
"You know, yesterday I found a little cafe tucked away in an alley. They have the best tea I've tasted in years."
"What luck! I love discovering those places. We'll have to go there together someday."
"Definitely. Those moments of calm are the most appreciated in such a busy city."
...
Street vendors filled the streets as people exchanged words or hurried about their daily lives. Some paused at the stalls, carefully examining the products before buying. Others, less patiently, waved their hands, showing their disinterest.
Kane inhaled the cool morning air. 'I'm just one ice cream short,' he thought as he approached the curb and flagged down a black car with tinted windows. Above the car, an illuminated sign announced 'Taxi'.
He calmly climbed into the cab. The driver shot him a quick glance and asked politely:
"Where are we headed?"
"To 12 Eternal Dawn Street in the Antiqua district," Kane replied with a small smile.
The cab moved smoothly through the city streets as Kane took in the scenery, which he had only seen before through his computer screen.
The city of Ignes was divided into five districts: Aurelia, Ebúrneo, Argénteo, Arcanum, and Antiqua.
Aurelia District: The most luxurious and exclusive place in Ignes, home to the city's wealthiest and most powerful families.
Eburnean District: An upper-middle-class residential district known for its elegance and style, without reaching the luxury of Aurelia.
Argenteo District: The heart of the middle class, home to workers, small business people, and merchants who keep the city running.
Arcanum District: A working-class area with numerous industrial districts, factories, and workshops that supply the city.
Antiqua District: The poorest district of Ignes, marked by slums and the city's most dangerous areas.
Kane was heading to the Antiqua District, located in the west, on the outskirts of Ignes. Close to the Forest of Mist, a place where he could level up and acquire a trait safely without exposing himself to unnecessary risks. It was also the ideal place to test his skills.
