Chapter 20: Tracey Gets Bugged

(One day, Mew and her friends are stopping at an island known as Murcott Island.)

(It looks very peaceful, but looks can be deceiving.)

(On the shore, Mew and her friends are at the beach and off the island.)

Mew: "Thanks for the ride, Lapras."

(Mew says, and calls Lapras back into his Pokeball.)

Tracey: "Okay, Venonat and Marill, go!"

(Tracey says, and calls out his Pokemon.)

Mew: "You really seem psyched, Tracey."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "I've been waiting to visit this island for a long time. I can't believe we're here!"

(Tracey says.)

(Suddenly, the group hears buzzing sounds.)

(Misty turns her head, lets out a yelp, and Ducks her head.)

(Then a Beedrill flies past them.)

(Tracey asks.)

Tracey: "What's that matter?"

Misty: "That was a Beedrill."

(Misty answers with fright, pointing to the Beedrill flying away.)

Misty: "And a big one!"

(Misty adds.)

Tracey: "That was one of the reasons I'm so happy to finally be here, Misty."

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "What?"

(Misty asks, shocked.)

Tracey: "Not just some Beedrill, Jun. Murcott Island's famous for having tons of bug element Pokémon."

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "Sounds cool."

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "You going to be okay, Misty?"

(Mew asks.)

(Misty quickly stands up.)

Misty: "I'll be alright, the Beedrill caught me by surprise and you know it's best to be uneasy around them."

Tracey: "Are you okay, Misty?"

(Tracey asks.)

Misty: "I'm okay. The Beedrill scared me a bit."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "On the bright side, you were a lot better than before, but that Beedrill is pretty big."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "What are you talking about?"

(Tracey asks.)

(Mew nervously giggles.)

Mew: "Well, back when Misty and I traveled in Kanto, Misty showed strong fear of Bug Pokemon, but she is getting a lot better cause she has some Big Pokemon on her own. But I guess some Big Pokemon still spook her like Beedrill."

Tomo: "And for good reason."

(Tomo says.)

(Tracey then turns to Misty.)

Tracey: "Well, it's good that you were able to face your fears."

Misty: "Thanks,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Don't worry Misty, as long as you stick with us, we won't have many problems. Besides, as long as we don't bother the Pokemon much, we'll be okay."

(Mew says.)

(Misty nods her head in reply.)

(And with that, Mew and her friends are walking in the forest to find any interesting Bug Type Pokemon.)

(Marill and Venonat are leading the way, until they detect something.)

Mew: "Did they find something?"

(Mew asks.)

Tracey: "Yeah, seems like it."

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "What kind of something?"

(Misty asks.)

Tomo: "Is it a Pokemon?"

(Tomo wonders.)

Tracey: "I'll take a look."

(Tracey says and gets out his binoculars.)

(He looks around and spots a bunch of Caterpie.)

Tracey: "Wow! A Caterpie swarm."

Mew: "Aww, they look cute, and living peacefully."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "You're right. They look very happy."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Kind of reminds me of when I first got mine."

(Mew says.)

(Just then, Tomo calls out.)

Tomo: "Go Pokeball!"

(Tomo then throws a Pokeball and hit one of the Caterpie and it goes inside.)

(The Pokeball shakes a bit, and ping, Caterpie been caught.)

Tomo: "Alright, I caught a Caterpie."

(Tomo happily cheers.)

Misty: "Nice job, Tomo."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Great catch."

(Mew compliments.)

(Just then, Marill and Venonat begin to panic.)

(Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Guys, there's something behind those bushes!"

Misty: "What is it?"

(Misty asks.)

(Just then, a Pinsir reveals itself from the bushes, frightening the girls, and the Pokemon.)

(Misty screams.)

Misty: "Caterpie are much better than Pinsir!"

(Then runs away.)

(Later on, Mew and her friends are walking through the forest again.)

Mew: "Venonat and Marill are good to have around."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "Venonat's radar eyes and Marill's super sensitive hearing make them a really great team. Marill and Venonat are more like partners than anything. We're all a team."

(Tracey says.)

(Suddenly,Venonat and Marill detect something.)

Tracey: "What's up, guys?"

(Tracey asks.)

(Venonat and Marill continue to detect something.)

Misty: "I hope it's not too buggy."

(Misty replies.)

Mew: "We can help it's not bigger than a Pinsir."

Pikachu and Eevee: "Pika! Eev!" (Agreed!)

(Pikachu and Eevee reply.)

Tracey: "Whatever it is, it's over in that direction."

(Tracey says.)

(Soon, Venonat and Marill head after it.)

Tracey: "Let's see,"

(Tracey says, and runs off.)

Mew: "Yeah!"

(Mew says, and follows Tracey with Pikachu and Eevee.)

Tomo: "I'm coming too!"

(Tomo says, and follows them with Meloetta and Skwovet.)

Misty: "Wait for me!"

(Misty calls out, and follows them with Togepi and Pichu in her arms.)

(Mew and the others rush over to see a Scyther lying on the ground, and it looks badly hurt.)

Mew: "A Scyther!"

(Mew says, and brings out her Pokedex.)

(Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Syther, the Mantis Pokémon. A Bug and Flying Type. Its claws are sharp as swords and it is a powerful flyer. This Pokémon is rarely seen by humans and almost never captured."

(Mew and the others approach the downed Scyther.)

(Tracey kneels down to it and asks.)

Tracey: "What's the matter? Are you okay, buddy?"

(Scyther looks up at the group, causing it to stand up a bit.)

Misty: "It doesn't look too happy."

(Misty says.)

(Tracey reaches into his backpack.)

Tracey: "I have something that'll make you feel lots better."

(Tracey then pulls out a potion.)

(Tracey then tries to give it to Scyther, but Scyther leaps up and assamese a battle position, but his body is shaking.)

Tracey: "Whoa!"

(Tracey says, surprised.)

Tomo: "We only want to help you, Scyther!"

(Tomo calls out.)

(Scyther then prepares to battle.)

Mew: "Okay, now, hold still."

(Mew says and brings out her Pokeball.)

Tracey: "What are you gonna do, Mew?"

(Tracey asks.)

Mew: "If I catch it, we can take it to a Pokemon Center."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "Yeah! Then it can have a rest and heal up!"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Pokéball, go!"

(Mew calls out and throws her Pokeball.)

(Scyther then manages to knock the Pokeball away, but staggers as doing so.)

Mew: "Scyther's still fighting."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "It's almost like it doesn't want us to help out."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "But it's badly hurt."

(Tomo says.)

(Tracey then looks at Scyther intensely.)

Misty: "I think it's gonna fight us!"

(Misty panics.)

Mew: "But we can't fight it like this."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "You're right. Scyther is too weak to fight."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "And it's not going to back down. We need a different approach."

(Mew says.)

(Then Tracey has an idea.)

Tracey: "I have an idea. Venonat, come on."

(Venonat nods and walks in front of Scyther.)

(However, Scyther aggressive approach, frightening it.)

(Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Don't back down, Venonat! Sleep Powder!"

(With that Venonat releases the Sleep Powder.)

(Scyther tries to fly, but is too weak to fly away.)

(Soon, the Sleep Powder reaches Scyther and it's starting to take effect.)

Tomo: "Hey, it worked!"

(Tomo says.)

Tracey: "Yeah!"

(Tracey replies.)

(He gets out his Pokeball and throws it at Scyther.)

Tracey: "Quick! Let's get it to a Pokémon Center!"

(Scyther is pulled to the Pokeball and with a ping, Scyther has been caught.)

(Then everyone hurries off to find the Pokemon Center.)

Mew: "Hurry!"

(Mew says.)

(Meanwhile, overhead, Team Rocket is flying over the forest in their balloon.)

(As usual, Team Rocket is trying to spot any Pokemon to steal, or to find Mew and her friends.)

(Jessie asks.)

Jessie: "See anything?"

James: "Nothing yet."

(James answers.)

Meowth: "Me neither,"

(Meowth says.)

(Soon, Meowth spots a Beedrill.)

Meowth: "Except for a…"

(Meowth says in fright.)

(But before he can finish, Beedrill pierces straight through the balloon, causing it to lose altitude, and falling to the ground.)

(Soon, the balloon crashes to the ground, and the three emerge from the balloon.)

Jessie: "Well, that was certainly a gigantic let down."

(Jessie says in pain.)

(Just then, the three spots a Caterpie and a Weedle near them, followed by a Venomoth flying by.)

(Then they spot a Paras and a Metapod in a nearby tree.)

(The three get up to find themselves in the large forest of Bug Pokemon.)

Jessie: "Where are we?"

(Jessie asks.)

James: "It's certainly buggy."

(James answers.)

Meowth: "Yeah,"

(Meowth replies.)

(Suddenly, a swarm of Scyther surrounds them, with their leader having a scar on its forehead.)

(Team Rocket gather together in fear, and the leader Scyther begins to attack, terrifying them.)

(Meanwhile, Mew and her friends are at the Pokemon Center as they watch Scyther on the treatment table.)

(As it's being bandaged up by Nurse Joy, Scyther is staring at Tracey.)

Mew: "It was so weak, but it just wouldn't give up without a fight."

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "It's almost like it's mad at us."

(Tomo says.)

(Then Misty says.)

Misty: "Yeah. Just look at how it's staring at Tracey."

(Soon, the treatment light goes off, indicating that Nurse Joy has finished with the treatment.)

(Both Nurse Joy and Tracey roll Scyther on the stretcher.)

Mew: "Nurse Joy, how's Scyther doing?"

(Mew asks.)

Nurse Joy: "Scyther is still very weak. It's gonna take a few days to get its strength back."

(Nurse Joy answers.)

Tracey: "How do you feel, Scyther?"

(Tracey asks.)

(But Scyther gives Tracey a harsh response, causing him to back up.)

(Nurse Joy says to Scyther.)

Nurse Joy: "You've got to relax or you won't heal properly, Scyther.

(Scyther remains sounding defiant.)

(Nurse Joy turns to Chansey.)

Nurse Joy: "Chansey, would you take Scyther to recovery?"

(Chansey agrees and rolls Scyther down the hall.)

(Just then, Nurse Joy says.)

Nurse Joy: "I guess the old warrior finally lost a battle for leadership of its swarm."

Tomo: "Battle for leadership?"

(Tomo asks.)

Tracey: "How do you know that that Scyther used to be the leader of its whole swarm?"

(Tracey asks, looking at Scyther.)

Nurse Joy: "Well, an older Scyther only could've gotten these kinds of injuries by battling another Scyther."

(Nurse Joy says.)

Misty: "To stay leader!"

(Misty replies.)

Mew: "Yeah. I have to suspect it seeing all those bruises it has. I guess the other Scyther must have been stronger."

Nurse Joy: "Usually, it's a younger, faster Scyther that challenges the leader. Sometimes speed and power can overcome even the most experienced Pokémon."

(Nurse Joy says.)

Misty: "How come Scyther was all alone when we found it?"

(Misty asks.)

(Then Mew explains.)

Mew: "Papa told me that once a leader is defeated by another Scyther, it can't stay with the swarm. Unless it wins a new leadership battle, it has to live all by itself."

Nurse Joy: "You're correct,"

(Nurse Joy says.)

(Later on, Mew and her friends are in the lobby talking with Professor Oak.)

Professor Oak: "Well, you should be very proud of your capture, Tracey."

(Professor Oak says.)

Tracey: "But it wasn't like a real capture, Professor."

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "What do you mean, Tracey? Of course it was real."

(Tomo replies.)

Tracey: "Yeah, but it was injured."

(Tracey says.)

(Then Professor Oak says.)

Professor Oak: "You don't sound very happy, Tracey."

Tracey: "Maybe because Scyther doesn't seem to be very happy."

(Tracey says.)

Professor Oak: "I'll bet it's because Scyther's sense of pride has been injured, too."

(Professor Oak says.)

(The group becomes puzzled.)

Tracey: "What do you mean?"

(Tracey asks.)

(Even the Pokemon are puzzled.)

Professor Oak: "If Scyther was defeated by another Scyther, and then it was captured by you, it must be feeling very low."

(Professor Oak explains.)

(Then Tracey asks.)

Tracey: "So what am I supposed to do now?"

Professor Oak: "You always have to keep in mind that every single Pokémon has its own unique feelings and personality. You must try to help Scyther regain confidence in its strength and in itself."

(Professor Oak explains.)

Tracey: "Right,"

(Tracey says with a nod.)

(Meanwhile, in the forest, Team Rocket are able to get away from the swarm of Scyther.)

Jessie: "That was a close one!"

(Jessie says in fright.)

James: "Scyther missed us by a…"

(James says.)

(James and Meowth then notice something shocking about Jessie.)

Jessie: "What's wrong?"

(Jessie asks.)

James: "I'm afraid that your hair's not there,"

(James says.)

Jessie: "My hair?"

(Jessie says, confused.)

(Jessie touches her head and moves her hands to feel the back.)

(To her shocking discovery, she realizes that she hasn't escaped unscaved.)

(Her hair has been chopped off.)

(Jessie gets her mirror as she freaks out.)

Jessie: "My hair!"

(And sees that her hair has been chopped off short.)

(And gets up, furious.)

Jessie:: "I'm gonna get that Scyther!"

(Then rushes off to go after Scyther to get back at it for her hair.)

Meowth: "Wait a second!"

(Meowth calls out, and runs after her.)

(Then Meowth jumps onto Jessie's back.)

Jessie: "You fraidy cat! Get your paws off me!"

(Jessie angrily says.)

(Meowth questions.)

Meowth: "Why catch just one Scyther when we can swipe the whole swarm?"

Jessie: "You think we can do it?"

(Jessie asks.)

Meowth: "Of course,"

(Meowth says, and jumps off Jessie's back.)

Meowth: "If we had a swarm of Scyther on our side, we'd be simply unstoppable."

James: "That way, we can get revenge on Jessie's haircut, and score points with the boss at the same time!"

(James says.")

(Then Jessie says in anger.)

Jessie: "Let's go catch them all! Especially that one!"

(and runs off to catch the Scyther.)

James: "Hold it, Jessie!"

(James calls out.)

(James and Meowth leap on Jessie and stop her, and the three fall to the ground.)

(Jessie is pounding on the ground as she grits her teeth in anger.)

Meowth: "We gotta plan this,"

(Meowth says.)

James: "If you're not careful, you could wind up with a crewcut!"

(James adds.)

(Jessie comes to realize it, and imagines herself with a crewcut look.)

(Jessie screams in fear.)

Jessie: "That's my nightmare!"

(Back at the Pokemon Center, Tracey is in the medical room where Scyther is laying.)

(Tracey says to Scyther.)

Tracey: "I think I know how you must be feeling, Scyther. And I can only imagine how down you must be about me capturing you without really having a battle. But as a trainer, I couldn't just leave you there hurt and all by yourself. I just wish I knew how to make you happy."

(But Scyther gives no response.)

(Then Mew has an idea.)

Mew: "Hey, I know!"

Tracey: "What, Mew?"

(Tracey asks.)

Mew: "There's no reason why Scyther couldn't go back and challenge the new leader of the swarm to another battle as soon as it gets better."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "You mean like a rematch?"

(Tracey asks.)

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Bingo!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (Good idea)

(Eevee says.)

Mew: "A Scyther's a natural born warrior, and it's happiest when it's battling."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "You're right."

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "Sounds good,"

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "Yeah. You're usually right about stuff like this."

(Misty says.)

(Then Tracey turns to Scyther.)

Tracey: "What do you think, Scyther? When you're better, you can go and battle again. Maybe I can even help you to train, if you want me to."

(Scyther however, doesn't answer.)

(Out in the forest, Team Rocket are able to find the Scyther swarm at a pond.)

James: "Look! They're taking a bath."

(James calls out.)

Jessie: "Good, then we'll get a clean shot at them."

(Jessie says.)

(Then Meowth pulls out a bazooka.)

Meowth: "Da blaster's ready."

(Then Jessie takes out a bazooka.)

Jessie: "Let's have it."

James: "They won't look so sharp when we're through."

(James says.)

Jessie: "Hey! Here's some goo for all of you!"

(Jessie angrily calls out and fires the bazooka.)

(The rocket comes flying towards the swarm, and releases some sticky goo onto the Scyther Swarm.)

(The Scyther Swarm tries to pull the goo away, and get themselves free, but the goo is too strong for them to do so.)

Jessie: "That'll teach you not to get snippy with me!"

(Jessie angrily shouts.)

(Then Meowth fires a net launcher and traps the swarm.)

(Team Rocket shouts.)

Team Rocket: "Got em!"

(The Scyther Swarm then let out a cry for help.)

(In the Pokemon Center, the former leader Scyther hears them.)

Tracey: "What is it? What's the matter, Scyther?"

(Tracey asks.)

(Just then, Mew asks.)

Mew: "Did you guys hear that?"

(Nurse Joy soon takes the bandages off.)

Nurse Joy: "Well. It still has a way to go, but Scyther's healing nicely."

Tomo: "You'll be up and around in no time."

(Tomo says.)

Skwovet: "Skwovet!" (And how!)

(Just then, Scyther begins flapping his wings, shocking everyone in the room.)

Nurse Joy: "Scyther, wait! You're too weak to…"

(Nurse Joy calls out.)

(But Scyther is already flying over the bed.)

Tracey: "Scyther, don't!"

(Tracey calls out.)

(And with that, Scyther smashes through the window and heads to the forest.)

(Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Scyther, come back!"

(Scyther soon loses his flying strength and falls to the ground.)

Tracey: "Scyther!"

(Tracey calls out, climbs out of the window, and rushes to Scyther.)

(Scyther weakly gets up onto one knee.)

(Tracey rushes to Scyther and says.)

Tracey: "Scyther, you have to rest now!"

(Scyther pushes Tracey aside and takes off.)

Tracey: "Scyther!"

(Tracey calls out, but Scyther is already gone.)

Tracey: "Scyther, no."

(Mew and the others rush to Tracey.)

(Tomo says.)

Tomo: "I bet it's gonna challenge the new leader to a rematch!"

Misty: "But that's dangerous. Scyther's not strong enough."

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Its body may be weak, but its heart is super strong."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "You're right, but I don't think Scyther is looking at a rematch."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "What do you mean?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "I think I heard Scyther cry, and Scyther heard it too. And Scyther has a concerned look on his face. I think there's another Scyther in trouble."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "Then we better get going."

(Tracey says.)

(Misty then says.)

Misty: "We gotta go, Nurse Joy."

(With that, Mew and her friends hurry off to catch up with Scyther.)

(Nurse Joy sighs and calls out.)

Nurse Joy: "Alright! But just remember to be careful out there!"

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket has the Scyther Swarm trapped in the net, hanging in a tree.)

(Jessie laughs as wickedly as a witch and picks the swarm with a tree branch.)

Jessie: "So, you thought you could get away with cutting my hair, did you? Well, now I've cut you all down to size!"

(James and Meowth are growing frightened by Jessie's behavior.)

James: "She's scary!"

(James says.)

Meowth: "Things get messy when you mess with Jessie!"

(Meowth says in fright.)

Jessie: "I've been robbed of my crowning glory, my resplendent hair!"

(Jessie says,)

James: "Resplendent?"

(James says, dumbfounded.)

Meowth: "Must mean big."

(Meowth replies with the same expression.)

Jessie: "Since I was a child, it was my only companion. And now it's been destroyed."

(Jessie says, showing sorrow.)

(Then switches with a laugh of madness, frightening the Scyther Swarm.)

(Jessie laughs evilly and says.)

Jessie: "Now it's payback time."

(The Scyther Swarm struggles to break free.)

(Just then, something swift passed the net, causing it to be cut down, freeing the Scyther trapped inside.)

(Team Rocket becomes puzzled and shocked.)

(And then, Tracey's Scyther friend lands in front of the swarm, determined to protect them.)

(The Swarm are surprised to see their former leader has come back and is rescuing them.)

Jessie: "Well, who's this?"

(Jessie asks.)

Meowth: "Looks like we missed one."

(Meowth says.)

James: "One Scyther isn't going to scare us, is it?"

(James asks.)

(Scyther lets out a cry of anger, causing Team Rocket to Panic.)

(Just then, they hear Mew's voice.)

Mew: "It's them!"

(Team Rocket turns their heads to see Mew and her friends.)

Jessie: "Huh? The twerps?!"

(Jessie asks, a little surprised and annoyed.)

(Suddenly, Mew and her friends are surprised to see Jessie's 'new haircut'.)

Jessie: "What are you looking at?"

(Jessie asks, embarrassed.)

(Just then, Mew and her friends, including the Pokemon, are covering their mouths to prevent their laughter.)

Misty: "Hey. Where'd you get that new do?"

(Misty asks, trying not to laugh.)

(Jessie becomes furious.)

Jessie: "How DARE you?! You insult my hair, prepare for trouble!"

James: "It used to be there but now it's stubble."

(James says.)

(And with that, Team Rocket begins the motto.)

(Jessie throws her Pokeball.)

Jessie: To protect my head from humiliation!

(And Arbok comes out of the Pokeball.)

(Then James throws his Pokeball.)

James: Too bad her hair went on vacation.

(Weezing comes out of its Pokeball.)

(Then Jessie throws her other Pokeball.)

Jessie: My gorgeous hair was my one true love!

(And Lickitung comes out of its Pokeball.)

(Then James throws another Pokeball.)

James: They went together like a hand in glove.

(Victreebel comes out and munches on James again.)

Jessie: JESSIE!

James: James.

Jessie: Now my hair's short, but it won't be for long!

James: And it won't stop our Jessie from doing what's wrong!

Meowth: Hairy!

Tomo: "How do they come up with that stuff?"

(Tomo asks, dumbfounded.)

Misty: "I like your new hairstyle a lot, Jessie."

(Misty says.)

(Then Mew says.)

Mew: "I have to agree. So what happened to your hair?"

(Then Misty asks.)

Misty; "Yeah, who cut it? A barber or a butcher?"

Jessie: "Very funny! One of them did it, and now they're all gonna pay for it!"

(Jessie angrily says, and points to them.)

Tracey: "So what are you gonna do to those Scyther now?"

(Tracey demands.)

(James chuckles.)

James: "They're going to be Team Rocket's new cutting edge fighting force."

Meowth: "Maybe their first mission should be to capture your little Pikachu and Eevee!"

(Meowth says.)

Mew: "That's what you think!"

(Mew angrily says.)

(Then turns to Pikachu and Eevee.)

Mew: "Pikachu, Eevee, go!"

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Gotcha!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (On it!)

(Eevee says.)

(Then James says.)

James: "Weezing, Smokescreen attack!"

(Weezing performs Smokescreen and manages to blind everyone.)

(Just then, Scyther get in front of them and spins around, blowing the smoke away, surprising Team Rocket.)

(Meowth has to complement.)

Meowth: "Nice move!"

Tomo: "What's that?"

(Tomo asks.)

Mew: "That was Swords Dance!"

(Mew says.)

(Then Mew shows Tomo the Pokedex, Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Swords Dance, Scyther's special attack. Scyther spins furiously to focus its energy and increase its attack power."

(Soon, Scyther stops spinning.)

James: "Scyther's great!"

(James says, amazed.)

(Jessie angrily asks.)

Jessie: "Who's side are you on?!"

(Then turns to see Scyther.)

Jessie: "Besides, its energy boost was a bust."

(Soon, Scyther is revealed to still be weakened.)

Tracey: "It's still weak."

(Tracey softly says.)

Meowth: "Looks like you're out of shape, buggy."

(Meowth mocks.)

James: "This one's over the hill."

(James says.)

(Then Jessie says.)

Jessie: "Now try the two-step and step out of our way."

(Team Rocket begins laughing at then.)

(But Scyther refuses to give up and says.)

Scyther: "Scyther Scy!" (I may not be their leader anymore, but I won't let you take 'em!)

Meowth: "Ha! Yeah, you're really scaring me!"

(Meowth says in a mocking tone.)

James: "What's it saying?"

(James asks.)

Meowth: "It's saying 'I may not be their leader anymore, but I won't let you take em.' Like it could stop us!"

(Meowth says.)

James: "Sounds like these Scyther had a little scrape."

(James says.)

Jessie: "How noble. You've come back to defend the swarm that sent you away."

(Jessie says.)

James: "Ooh! How inspiring!"

(James says.)

(Hearing Team Rocket, the lead Scyther realizes what the older leader is doing, including Tracey.)

Tracey: "Scyther didn't come back here to defeat the new leader!"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Right. It came back to rescue its friends."

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "That Scyther is brave."

(Tomo says.)

(But Team Rocket continues to mock it.)

Jessie: "What a touching story."

(Jessie says.)

(Then James says.)

James: "But I don't think you'll be able to touch us."

Meowth: "I say we find out!"

(Meowth says.)

(With that, Jessie calls out.)

Jessie: "Alright, Arbok, Weezing, Lickitung and Victreebel, let's exterminate this little pest!"

(The four Pokemon hang up on Scyther.)

(Piakchu and Eevee try to jump in, but Scyther blocks him, telling them that this is his fight and his fight alone.)

(Meowth laughs.)

Meowth: "The big bad bug just told Pikachu and Eevee it don't need help because it can beat us by itself!"

Jessie: "Ha,"

(Jessie mocks.)

(Then James says.)

James: "Ha! Awesome!"

(Jessie and Meowth look at James with a weird look.)

(Soon, all five Pokemon are at a stare down.)

Tracey: "You can do it."

(Tracey says.)

(Tomo calls out.)

Tomo: "You can do it, Scyther."

(Then Mew says.)

Mew: "Pikachu, Eevee, come back."

(Hearing Mew, Pikachu and Eevee return to Mew.)

Misty: "Why are you calling them back?"

(Misty asks.)

Tracey: "Scyther has to fight this battle all by itself."

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "But why?"

(Misty asks.)

Tracey: "Because Scyther's got something to prove to itself by itself."

(Tracey says.)

(Scyther nods his head.)

(Then Tracey says.)

Tracey: "Alright, Scyther, let's go!"

(Scyther stands, prepped for a battle as all four Team Rocket charge with Meowth taking the lead.)

Meowth: "Come on! This one's gonna be a pushover!"

(Meowth says.)

(With that, Scyther knocks Meowth back with one attack, knocking him out of the battle.)

(Tracey happily calls out.)

Tracey: "Good work, Scyther! Keep it up!"

(Lickitung and Victreebel attack together from a different direction.)

(Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Look out, Scyther! They're double-teaming you!"

(Scyther then leaps, and goes airborne, while Lickitung goes headfirst into Victreebel's mouth.)

(Then Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Scyther, Arbok's coming at you from below!"

(Scyther looks to see Arbok leaping up to it.)

(Then Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Try Double Team!"

(Scyther then performs a Double Team to make copies of himself, causing Arbok to get confused.)

(Arbok attacks two fake Scythers and falls to the ground.)

Mew: "It worked!"

(Mew cheers.)

Misty: "Great job!"

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Alright!"

(Tomo cheese.)

(Scyther lands on the ground, but has gotten weaker.)

(Mew cheers.)

Mew: "You can beat em, Scyther!"

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Get up!)

(Pikachu calls out.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee!" (Knock them into next week!)

(Eevee says.)

(Victreebel rears back for an attack.)

(Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Scyther, it's gonna use Razor Leaf!"

(Scyther charges and uses its scythe arms to cut the Razor Leaf attack apart, causing Victreebel to panic.)

Tracey: "Yes!"

(Tracey cheers.)

Mew: "That was great, Tracey."

(Mew says.)

(Misty then asks.)

Misty: "But how did you know it was gonna use Razor Leaf?"

Tracey: I could tell by the way Victreebel was moving. That comes from being a Pokémon Watcher."

(Tracey says.)

(Jessie angrily calls out.)

Jessie: "Arbok, Poison Sting attack, now!"

(With that, Arbok launches the Poison Sing. Scyther Dodges.)

(Arbok performs the attack again, but Scyther dodges again.)

(Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Scyther!"

(Arbok then charges straight for Scyther for another attack.)

(Scyther is still so weak that it can't avoid the attack.)

(Just before the Poison Sting can attack, the lead Scyther defends it, surprising Arbok and the others.)

Tracey: "Yeah! It blocked Arbok's attack!"

(Tracey says, amazed.)

(The lead Scyther looks at Tracey's Scyther, and vice versa.)

(Jessie calls out in anger.)

Jessie: "Go, all of you! Attack them together!"

(With that, all four of the Pokemon charge toward the Scyther, but both Scyther stand and ready to attack.)

(The leader then allows Scyther to leap into the fray from its shoulders.)

(With that, the lead Scyther charges while Tracey's Scyther is ready to attack.)

(Then Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Slash attack!"

(Scyther then performs the Slash Attack, and knocks all four Pokemon down in three slashes.)

(Tracey cheers.)

Tracey: "Alright!"

(Meowth is shocked.)

Meowth: "Do something."

(Just then, Jessie angrily holds the bazooka.)

Jessie: "I still go one last shot at stopping you!"

(and aims it at Scyther.)

(Mew has enough.)

Mew: "That's no fair! Thunderbolt, Pikachu!"

(Pikachu then comes up and performs the Thunderbolt Attack, and lands on Team Rocket.)

(Then Scyther charges and performs Slash Attack, cutting off Team Rocket's hair, fur in Meowth's case.)

(leaving Jessie and James with mohawks and Meowth with a bald spot between his eyes.)

(Then the three retreat in fear.)

(Jessie cries out.)

Jessie: "That was certainly a close shave!"

James: "Scyther's a real cut up!"

(James panics.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "We all got a scalp treatment!"

(Then all three shout.)

Team Rocket: "Team Rocket's dashing off again!"

(Mew and the other to Scyther to congratulate it.)

Tracey: "You did it, Scyther!"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "You beat them all!"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "That was cool!"

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "You were awesome!"

(Tomo says.)

(Then Pikachu says.)

Pikachu: "Pikachu!" (Nice going!)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (So cool!)

(Eevee says.)

Skwovet: "Skwovet Skwov!" (Totally radical!)

(Meloetta happily says.)

Meloetta: "Mel Melooetta," (You were very brave!)

(Scyther then lets out a cry for victory.)

(Later on, the Scyther Swarm clean themselves off from the sticky goo.)

(Soon, the leader of the Swarm approaches Scyther, and the two make peace.)

(Soon, the Scyther Swarm takes their leave.)

Tomo: "Winning that battle did more for Scyther than any Pokémon Center could."

(Tomo says.)

(Tracey then says.)

Tracey: "Yeah, I think Scyther probably feels stronger now than it ever did."

(Scyther then turns to Tracey and nods his head.)

(Tracey nods back.)

Tracey: "We both feel stronger."

(Then Tracey brings out Scyther's Pokeball and calls him back.)

Tracey: "Scyther, return!"

(Scyther is soon called back into the Pokeball.)

(Then Tracey says.)

Tracey: "Alright, I caught Scyther!"

Mew: "Yeah. You really caught Scyther for real. I think he'll make a great addition to your team."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "I have to agree."

(Tracey says with a nod.)

(Then Tomo asks.)

Tomo: "Hey Tracey, can Scyther help me train with my Pokemon sometime."

Tracey: "Sure Tomo."

(Tracey says.)

(At the end of the day, Tracey's patience and perseverance finally paid off.)

(He now has a new Pokemon and a new friend.)

(Scyther has a new friend, too, and a new reason to believe in itself.)
