Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Law Immunity

[Third Person's PoV]

"The Hero Killer is currently in the hospital with multiple injuries, including broken bones, fractured ribs, internal bleeding, and that's just to name a few," the Hosu chief of police began.

"Goddamn, Midoriya. I didn't know you had it in you to cause so much damage to one person," Tony said, looking at Midoriya in shock.

Midoriya, blushing deeply and noticing everyone staring at him, covered his face. "Stain was tenacious! No matter how many times I hit him, he just wouldn't go down. Even when I tried to stop him and make him focus on me, he kept going after Iida," Midoriya said quickly, trying to explain the situation.

"At the dawn of this extraordinary era, the police moved to prioritize leadership and maintain the status quo, deciding not to use quirks as weapons," the chief continued. "The profession of 'hero' rose to fill that void. Woof,

Authorizing the use of such power—power that could so easily kill—was initially a heavily criticized decision. But it gained public support because your predecessors acted morally and complied with the law, woof.

Those without permission, who inflict harm without explicit orders from the police or authorities, even if they face someone like the Hero Killer or the Nomus, represent a stunning breach of the law."

"Yeah, except I don't have a quirk, so that law doesn't really apply to me now, does it?" Tony said with a shrug.

The chief nodded, his dog-like ears twitching slightly. "You're right, but you did breach another law—the act of vigilantism, doing the work of a hero without a hero license."

Tony scratched his chin thoughtfully and raised a finger, then grabbed his phone while still holding the finger up. Walking out of the room, he kept his finger visible through the door's window.

After a minute, Tony re-entered. "Already taken care of. I was still in the middle of my internship with Star and Stripes at the time, so I was just following her orders. I didn't act on my own, and it's all within the law," he said, puffing out his chest proudly.

"And if that doesn't work, I'm politically powerful enough that the law doesn't apply to me. Not to mention, the public sees me as a hero, not a vigilante. Plus, I own property and businesses in Hosu, so I have the legal right to defend my assets from intruders."

Tony flashed a peace sign, tongue sticking out slightly. "No matter how you spin this, I'm in the clear."

Everyone stared at him in silence, while Tony basked in the attention. "Anyway, from what I gather, you're not really here to arrest us. You just wanted to explain the situation to them, right? Well, you're welcome. I know I'm awesome. Goodbye, and happy holidays," Tony said, exiting the room with two peace signs this time.

After a moment of heavy silence, Gran Torino muttered, "Well, that brat sure is charming…"

"Was Tony right? Is he politically immune to the law?" Iida asked, genuinely curious.

The chief nodded. "He's right. He supplies most of the police's equipment. Arresting him would hurt us more than it would help. Honestly, I just wanted to scare him a bit, but it didn't go as planned."

...

Tony stepped out of the hospital and into his limousine. "Friday, donate a large sum to Hosu's reconstruction efforts. Make sure Uraraka's parents' construction company is heavily involved. That should keep me extra safe from public scrutiny."

"As you wish, boss. Shall I drive us home?" Friday responded.

"No, hold on. Call Principal Nezu," Tony ordered, picking up a tablet to review the Mark 42 suit files.

After a few rings, Principal Nezu's voice came through the speakers. "Hello?"

"Yo, if it isn't my favorite little mouse."

"Stark?" Nezu squeaked.

"The one and only…"

"Is something wrong? I thought you'd be resting after the Hosu incident."

"I need to speak to you. It's important. Where can I meet you?"

"Can it wait until tomorrow?"

"I'm calling now, aren't I?"

"I'm home, but—"

"Perfect, I'll see you in a few," Tony said, motioning for Friday to end the call.

...

Meanwhile, Nezu, dressed in a small bathrobe, looked at his phone in confusion. "I didn't even tell him where I live…" he muttered. "Or that he could come over."

...

"Friday, to my favorite little mouse. Let's go," Tony commanded, still engrossed in his tablet.

Minutes later, they arrived at a large mansion. Tony raised an eyebrow. "Overcompensating much?" he muttered, staring at Nezu's grand estate.

As the gates opened, Friday drove inside. Tony stepped out of the car and approached the large door. A smaller door opened, and Nezu appeared.

Sighing, Nezu said, "I'm literally off working hours. This better be important."

Tony waved the tablet. "I know where the villains that attacked U.A. are hiding. They're also behind the attack on Hosu City."

Nezu's expression turned serious. "Come inside," he said, pushing the larger door open for Tony to follow him inside.

As Tony entered, he looked around and whistled. "Grand place you have here."

"It's just a little something to treat myself," Nezu said humbly.

Tony rolled his eyes as Nezu led him toward the living room area. Nezu jumped up onto one of the couches while Tony sat on the one opposite him.

"Are you ready for the greatest plot twist in U.A. history?" Tony asked with a smirk.

Nezu tilted his head in confusion. "I thought you were here to tell me their locations?"

"I am, but there's more to it. You see, I managed to get both of their blood samples," Tony said with a large grin.

Nezu's eyes widened. "Then I take it by your excitement their history must be very important…"

"Oh boy, isn't it…" Tony said as he tapped on the tablet a few times. "Let's start with Kurogiri. He was the villain able to warp everyone around with his mist."

Nezu nodded, remembering what was reported to him about the villains at the USJ. "You see, he was once a U.A. student."

"What!?" Nezu squeaked in shock. "Explain everything. Now. I don't remember any of my students having a quirk like what was described."

Tony flipped the tablet around and showed him an image of a boy wearing a U.A. uniform with light blue hair that appeared soft, like a cloud, and a bandage over his nose. Next to the boy were two people Nezu knew personally, as they are members of his staff, Aizawa and Present Mic, back when they were younger.

"Kurogiri's DNA matches the boy in the middle, Oboro Shirakumo."

"But that's impossible… he's dead…" Nezu muttered in disbelief as his mind rapidly came to a conclusion. "A Nomu…"

Tony wasn't surprised Nezu caught on fast and nodded in confirmation.

Nezu balled his paws as his face contorted in anger. "The body of one of my students was desecrated and practically turned into the undead… That is unforgivable…"

Tony was a bit surprised and taken aback by Nezu's anger. 'Looks like he cares more about his students than he lets on. I expected him to take this seriously, but not to get this angry.'
