Chapter 31: Against The Wolf (Finale)
Awoooh!
The loud howl echoed the empty cavern as the wolf jumped at Damon with all of its power. Faced with the killing intent of the beast Damon was unable to evade the attack this time but was able to just deploy the Goldveil shield, the artefact he purchased just in time.
The dark shield with the golden patterns adorning its circular body appeared with a shimmering golden light just before the mage as the beast crashed onto it.
Miscalculating the force the beast lunged onto him the shield was unable to properly stop the attack, following the momentum the shield rapidly pushed back carrying Damon with its concaved part, finally crashing on the walls of the cave.
Clank! Clank!
The berserked wolf that has lost all its reason even after crashing onto the shield didn't stop its assault and kept on with its assault using all of its power continuously assaulting the dark shield.
The assault of the wolf was futile as the shield didn't even get a single scratch even after facing the beast's assault. The shield was designed to withhold even the power of advanced magic; how could it even face any damage when faced with a beast of such level?
Stuck between the wall and the shield Damon felt the force behind the attack of the wolf as it kept on hitting the shield. With all of his spiritual might his mind held onto the shield weakly just to have the shield stay put as he faced the assault of the berserked creature.
Clank!
His heart beat wildly as his mind raced with its full potential, his mind held onto the shield while his consciousness kept on trying to find a way out.
'It's risky... but this may work.'
Finally finding the trick to get out of the situation, Damon weighed pros and cons but left midway finding this to be his only solution to escape his situation.
Closing his eyes he calmed his heart, the peace returned to his mind as he uttered the name of the spell.
The dark Stardust manifested itself in his consciousness as all the stars aligned in an instant. With the level nearing the peak of primary magic the shadow spell manifested itself in the darkness covering the body of its caster.
"Shadow Evade: Flight"
The spell allows a mage to turn himself into a shadow and move around freely. As the darkness covered Damon turning into the shadow ready to flee his mind weakened the hold onto the shield lightly.
The wolf that had practically climbed the shield weighing on it with its full mass felt the movement of the shield, the balance shifted as the shield began to drop down giving only an opening from below for a moment less than a second, but that's all Damon needed.
Becoming the shadow, the protagonist swiftly ran out of the shield that caved him traveling from below the belly of the beast, the mage swiftly ran between its legs escaping its clutches without even the beast knowing.
Boom!
The heavy sound of metal echoed the cavern as the shield hit the ground with a loud thump.
"Fire Burst: Rupture!"
The beast who just thought that it had finally crushed the pest who dared to play with its dignity heard the familiar voice of the human he thought dead. The beast turned its head back to look at what was going but as he did its eyes widened in shock as the small fireball suddenly crashed into his body before exploding with a force that made the beast experience the pain it never had before.
Awoooh!
The beast howled in pain as it felt the power of fire, the thought skin of his that resisted the power of level two lightning now experienced the burn that did some serious damage to his body after experiencing the strongest attack of Damon.
Fire Burst: Rupture, the strongest spell of Damon that deals damage, the third level spell of fire element that Damon was most proficient in.
The spell though didn't kill the beast directly but still dealt with a serious damage, the feature that even the combined effects of multiple mages at level one of their respective elements and even Damon's level 2 lightning was unable to do was dealt by just a single attack of level 3 element.
"Hey, was that all you got, mutt?"
The fire burned the body of the beast forcing it to howl in pain as Damon taunted the beast with a smile on his face, his body after experiencing the aura of the monster was now adapted to it, dealing the damage that caused the serious injuries to the wolf now boosted Damon's confidence as it taunted the wolf.
Fire enveloped his hand illuminating the dark cave as his blue eyes looked down at the wolf, even if the man dealt only one noteworthy damage his ego was now boosted with just this achievement. The smile formed on his face as now he revealed his true power to the wolf hidden from the eyes of students and teachers in this now dark cave the protagonist can now display his full abilities as he wished.
Growl!
The low growls leaked from the beast's mouth as the beast whose body was being burnt by the fire was now beyond furious, its mind that had lost all of its sanity being berserked now had only one single aim in his mind to lunge at the human before him and rip its entire body into thousands of pieces.
Ignoring the pain the beast ran towards Damon who just smiled before turning his back towards the beast before running with its full might.
The Goldveil shield that was laid below the ground also began to float in the air following Damon.
Damon ran with an amazing speed displaying the athletic abilities of a disciplined athlete, strengthened by the soul essences there was no what you can say super change on Damon's body but still it gave a significant boost to his overall physique.
His physical abilities that mostly were something that ranged under the category of fitness enthusiasts and teen sportsmen was now at the level of strong athletes that trained their entire lives to surpass the limits but still not something supernatural or even the so-called 'peak' human level.
The speed though amazing for humans was still nothing for the beast, even when injured the wolf was still able to close the distance between it and Damon before taking another leap towards the protagonist.
Sensing the approaching wolf Damon's heart raced as his mind contacted the shield making it appear in front of Damon in a fashion levitating parallelly to the ground.
Jumping with his full might Damon stepped on the shield that strongly held onto his weight using the shield as the stepping stone Damon lunged towards the roof performing a backflip barely avoiding the wolf's path.
The wolf that expected to finally catch his prey was dumbstruck by the action of Damon as it crashed onto the wall of the cave.
Boom!
The loud voice of the figure of the wolf crashing onto the wall echoed the cavern and Damon also landed on his feet. Looking at the wolf, the man didn't even spare a second and used the moment to his advantage once again using the lightning strike emptying his lightning reserves completely and inducing a weak paralysis effect onto the beast.
Before raising his hands high up in the air and casting the fire spell at the ceiling covered with numerous stalactites.
"Fire Burst: Rupture!"

Sorry for not uploading, I was going to upload yesterday as promised two chapters because of being busy with some thing I was unable to, but don't worry today I am planning to have a mass release that I promised though please wait for a few hours for it!
Update on my life: great! I had lost hopes but I was still able to get a college, a government college for MBBS through open category! The college is you know something of a lowest category level but still got one seat, will be applying for my dream college next year but still taking this seat for now.
Another thing, review petition for Reneet was filed today! Don't have much hope of getting justice but still pray to have this to work
