As the first light of dawn crept through the curtains of his bedroom, Kayn stirred, blinking his eyes open. His mind was still half-drifting in the comforting haze of sleep.
Soon, the subtle hums of technology in his room kicked in, sensing him waking up. The shades began to automatically pull away, and the soft rays of the early morning sun bathed the room in a gentle golden hue.
Kayn let out a low yawn, stretching out his arms as he sat up in bed. His firm muscles on full display as Kayn's mind wandered back to the evening he had spent with Kara, a surprising turn of events, filled with vulnerability, laughter, and even the promise of new beginnings.
He chuckled lightly, remembering how competitive she had been about the idea of training. It was only natural, Kayn knew Kara had some basic training from her time on Krypton, as she could be called a genius, even among Kryptonians.
He threw the covers off and swung his legs over the edge of the bed, rubbing his face as the grogginess began to lift. The sleek lines of the room, a perfect blend of modern technology and comfort, glistened around him.
Pushing himself to his feet, Kayn padded over to the en-suite bathroom. His reflection in the mirror greeted him with a half-smile.
After a quick shower, he went through his usual morning routine: brushing his teeth, grooming, and slipping into a simple, comfortable outfit, fitted black joggers and a loose, long-sleeved t-shirt.
His movements were swift and practiced, years of discipline evident in how efficiently he transitioned from one task to the next.
He strapped on his watch, a custom-designed piece of tech that connected him to his team's systems, and headed downstairs.
"System, Sign-In." Kayn muttered before he headed downstairs.
[ Congratulations! You have received – Celestial Sun Crystal ]
Kayn raised his eyebrow as he saw the reward he received, immediately pulling it out of the System inventory.
In Kayn's hands, a magnificent golden crystal appeared, shimmering with a celestial glow, it was pulsing with the insane intensity of the solar light captured within. The energy pulsing from the crystal was so potent it almost felt alive.
Kayn immediately looked at the system description of the crystal:
[ The Celestial Sun Crystal is a crystal forged from the purest, most concentrated energies of a Celestial Yellow Sun. The Crystal can be used to power machines, create objects or enhance personal strength.
For Kryptonians, it possesses the extraordinary ability to cleanse their bloodstream, removing any impurities, afflictions, or foreign influences that might dampen their potential. As it purifies, the crystal unlocks the full capacity of their solar-absorbing cells, enabling them to reach the zenith of their inherent power with enough time.
Beyond this purification, the Celestial Sun Crystal bestows an immediate and immense power boost, amplifying a Kryptonian's abilities to extraordinary levels. Their strength, speed, flight, and sensory capabilities are heightened. ]
Kayn looked at the description of the Crystal, nodding as he thought about how he would use this for Kara. With this, he could certainly turn her into one of the strongest beings in the Universe, and potentially his most powerful ally.
He placed the crystal into the system inventory and immediately headed towards the kitchen, the scent of breakfast becoming more and more prominent the closer he came.
Violet was already seated at the dining table, sipping a cup of coffee with a plate of toast in front of her. Her hair shimmered slightly under the overhead light, and she looked up as Kayn entered, a knowing smile tugging at her lips.
"Morning, sleepyhead," she greeted him, her tone teasing.
"Morning, Violet," Kayn replied, grabbing his own mug of coffee from the counter. "You're up early."
"Yeah, well, someone has to keep things running smoothly," Violet quipped, taking another sip of her drink, "Plus, I wanted to talk to you about something."
Kayn raised an eyebrow, intrigued. He sat down across from her, grabbing a piece of toast from the pile she had made. "What's on your mind?"
Violet leaned back in her chair, her eyes flickering with amusement, "Kara."
Kayn paused mid-bite, before setting the toast down, looking at Violet with a slight grin, "Ah, you heard about that already?"
She shrugged, smirking. "I have my ways," Her expression softened slightly. "So, you're going to train her?"
Kayn nodded, taking a sip of his coffee as he leaned back in his chair, "Yeah. She asked for it, and I think she's ready, or at least wants to be."
Violet raised an eyebrow. "You sure about that? I mean, training Kara is going to be different than training, say, Soren or Mika. She's got all that raw Kryptonian power but none of the control yet compared to Superman. Not to mention the emotional baggage of what she's been through."
Kayn sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know. But I'm not just going to train her in powers. I'm focusing on combat skills, situational awareness, and control. If she's going to be a hero, she needs to learn to make decisions in high-stress situations, decisions that aren't always black and white."
Violet nodded thoughtfully and continued drinking her coffee while Kayn continued to explain.
"Kara has the potential to be something great. But she also needs the right tools, not just to fight but to protect herself and others. And I'm also building her a suit, something that'll help regulate her powers and provide extra protection in case things go south."
Violet's eyes twinkled with curiosity, "A custom suit, huh? What are you thinking for the design?"
Kayn leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful look crossing his face. "I want it to be durable but lightweight, something that enhances her natural abilities without getting in the way. I'm also considering adding a few enhancements, perhaps a way to help her absorb and store solar energy more efficiently, which will give her an edge."
Violet nodded in approval. "Sounds like you've got it all planned out. What about the actual training, though?"
Kayn grinned, a glint of challenge flashing in his eyes, "Oh, don't worry about me. I've got more than enough strength to keep up with her. The training will be tough, but she needs that challenge. We'll start with basic combat, close-quarters, how to assess a situation quickly, how to adapt on the fly. She needs to be able to control her movements, even at her full power."
Violet smiled knowingly, "You're going to make her run through those obstacle courses of yours, aren't you?"
Kayn laughed. "Oh, absolutely. She's going to hate it, but she'll thank me later. The obstacle courses are perfect for testing her reflexes and her control under pressure. And I'm not going to go easy on her, even if she's Kryptonian. She needs to learn discipline, and that's the best way to do it."
Violet leaned forward, her tone serious, "Just make sure you don't push her too hard, okay? Kara's been through a lot. She's tough, but emotionally, she's still fragile. She's trusting you to help her become the hero she wants to be. Don't let her down."
Kayn's expression softened as he nodded, "I won't. I know what's at stake. Kara's not just another student. I'll be there for her, every step of the way."
Violet smiled softly. "Good."
They both fell into a comfortable silence, as their conversation fizzled out, the sounds of their breakfast filling the room.
Kayn finished his coffee, already thinking about how he would approach the day's training with Kara. He was excited to see what she could accomplish, but he was also keenly aware of the responsibility he now had.
"Alright," Kayn said, standing up and stretching, "I better get started on the suit designs. Then I'll meet Kara for her first lesson. Should be fun."
Violet chuckled, "Just don't break her on the first day."
Kayn grinned. "No promises."
With that, he turned and headed out of the kitchen, his mind already shifting into training mode. Today marked the beginning of something new for both him and Kara, and he was eager to see where this path would lead.
With a determined look, he made his way toward the workshop to begin preparing for the day ahead.
