Chapter 5: Magic!
Magic? What is it?
That was a question Kayn had to ask himself. It was an unknown power to Kayn from a magic-less world, yet to Kayn, magic was full of possibilities.
The Ability to do things that defied all science and logic, an ability that has the potential to send Kayn to the absolute peak of power in the DC Universe. Kayn promised himself that he would learn and master magic.
So what is Magic? Well according to the Elementary Introduction to Magic, Magic was at the fundamental level, a power in which allows for manipulation over creation. A power that allowed one to do whatever they want as long as they had sufficient power and imagination.
In order to practice magic, a person must become aware of magic and understand that magic itself and understand that magic can be shaped at will, as long as one has the firm will, and the power to shape it as they need it.
There were many types of Magic, such as Elemental, Soul, Necromancy, Spirit Magic, and many more.
Most Magic has a price, except for persons who instinctively had a connection to a Magical Realm, and Kayn had one of those connections to his Magical Realms due to his Origin Soul, allowing him to come into contact with the most primal magical energy in existence, Pure Mana.
So, Kayn meditated and started concentrating on his surroundings to tap into the Pure Mana.
"Hmm, so calming." Kayn said. He could feel the Mana in the air invisible to the eye, and he began absorbing it into his body.
Usually, absorbing Magical Energy was extraordinarily difficult, but Kayn could due to as natural as breathing due to his Origin Soul Talents.
Kayn was absorbing the Mana through his body, both inhaling it and absorbing the Mana through the pores in his skin, processing the Mana inside of his body, compressing the Mana to make it firm and efficient.
The mana was slowly getting stored up in more compressed way in his body just like a gas cylinder. The more magic power get compressed the more it becomes pure and powerful. This also had a bonus effect of making Kayn's spells more powerful on average.
Kayn opened his eyes, deciding to test his Magical Ability. The main thing that is needed for magic to Kayn is imagination.
Other mages needed chants and incantations, but with Kayn's talent, he saw no need for that. His talent allowed him to tap into the most pure form of magic, and also figure out the perfect magical path for him.
For Kayn, all he needed was imagination to create his spells, and then once the spells were created, he would improve his Magical Knowledge and Abilities in order to improve the spells power and his control over it.
"Cmon, Lightning!" Kayn said in his mind, thinking about creating lightning in his hands.
Mana channeled into his hand and Kayn focused intently, using his talents to their maximum effectiveness. As he got better at Magic, he would naturally improve at this process, but for the first time, this was what he did.
~CACKLE~
A flash of purple lightning appeared in Kayn's hands, traveling throughout his body and into his eyes, giving him a fierce look like a God of Lightning.
Kayn chuckled, the purple colour of the lightning didn't change the power, he just did it because it was cool.
With that, Kayn continued his Magic Training!

3 Months Later
Time had quickly passed for the found family.
Constant training, learning and recreational activities. For 3 months, that was mostly the schedule, spending time getting stronger together, getting smarter while enjoying themselves.
Kayn was currently standing in the training area, watching as the various children ran around the house. This was one of the basic training, laps around the house to improve endurance.
It started with just 3 for normal Humans laps, and more laps depending on their starting level, and would improve more and more as they got more adjusted to the current level.
If anyone had any breathing or posture problems, Kayn would quickly swoop in to fix it. After 3 months of training, every day, most of these children had seen some improvement to their physique, and their Meta-Human/Alien/Magical Abilities.
Kayn had also gotten many useful Sign-In Rewards, such as:

All of these rewards were exceptionally useful, but one of the most valuable ones for the other children was the Spirit Enhancement Tablets. These tablets had effects such as:
- Enhanced Mental Strength
- Massively Improved Memory
- Massively Improved Comprehension Ability
This allowed Kayn to advance their Academic schedules. Now, all of the children had already completed elementary school knowledge, and were midway through Middle-School level knowledge in all subjects such as Math, Geography, Science etc.
He also had all the children learning English alongside Russian from him, and he'd have them learn multiple other languages in the future.
However, the most impressive children were Soren, Hugo, Mika and Violet.
Mika was currently the 2nd strongest after Kayn, probably due to her instinctual Kitsune abilities. She especially excelled at Telepathic and Mental Powers, especially Illusion and Dream Manipulation.
Kayn had also made Mika create her own Mind-scape and organize her mind, training her intensely to become a power-house Spiritual and Telepathic Superhuman.
Mika also got the ability to control her Kitsune transformations, and could now pass off as a normal human.
Hugo and Soren were both Meta-Humans.
Hugo had the Meta-Human ability to Create Portals and Light Telekinetic abilities, which Kayn knew would be extremely valuable in the future.
Soren had the Meta-Human Ability to manipulate Nature, such as Rocks, Plants and light water, this power also made Kayn have Soren help him tend to the Garden/Farm. The Garden was growing Grapes, Apples, Strawberries and Tomatoes.
Finally, Violet was a Homo-Magi, so Kayn was teaching her Magic.
Speaking of Kayn, his own training was going incredibly well. His Telepathic and Telekinetic abilities were both improving at an incredible rate. Telepathically, Kayn could now invade weaker minds, cause illusions, invoke dreams and even read surface memories, but beings with stronger mental strength, he still needed more training.
Kayn constantly trained his telekinetic ability, lifting things with his mind always instead of his hands, training his control. He also worked to lift heavier thinks over time, allowing him to increase how heavy of a load he could telekinetically control over time.
Finally, Kayn also fully mastered flight, allowing him to effortlessly fly around without issue.
In terms of Magic, he had also massively improved, finishing both the Elementary and Intermediate Manuals while using his Imagination to improve his Magical Abilities.
The Magic Kayn was best at had to be Elemental Magic, probably because he loved elemental magicians in his past life, and so had many creative ideas to push this type of magic to the absolute extreme, creating many unique spells inspired from past life comics, movies and TV Shows.
He had also learned how to create Magic Formations, which he used to protect the house. The formations he placed were:

<Secure> was the first enchantment he used, creating a barrier around the house, protecting the home from magic spells and physical strikes.
<Invisible> made the home invisible to beings without sufficient Magical Power, or beings whom had a connection to the Home ( Kayn, children ) and also made Animals and persons not come near the surrounding area.
<Mana Replenishment> replenished the mana from the surrounding area to keep the various formations running.
<Restricted Unknown Entry> Blocks all kind of magical entry such as teleportation or other space related Magic unless specifically allowed ( Hugo ).
"Alright, that's good for today. Go take a bath and have your lunch." Kayn said to everyone who was currently training. Most of them collapsed onto the ground, exhausted as they had been training for hours, yet they also knew it was for the best.
Kayn walked back into the house, heading into his personal bedroom where he picked up a device, a large tablet with a similar design to future Samsung devices.
Using his knowledge of Engineering and Computer Sciences, Kayn used many of the tech parts he bought and recovered to create it.
"After a nearly deadly attack at Gotham City University, Batman has one again defeated Joker and sent him to Arkham Asylum. Meanwhile, over in Metropolis, a terrorist attack at the Mayor's Office was thankfully dissolved by our Alien Friend, Superman.
Over in Central City..."
Kayn listened to the news report intently. Ever since building this tablet, he had been using it to gather essential information about ongoing news across the world, particularly in Major Superhero Cities like Gotham and Metropolis.
Unfortunately, he still hadn't gotten much proof about the existence of various other organizations, like the League Of Assassins, or The Light, as they mostly act mysteriously and off the grid.
Still, Kayn didn't dare slacken, he needed to be prepared for anything and everything. Putting down the tablet, Kayn sunk into meditation, trying to continuously improve himself.
With that, time swiftly passed!
