Chapter 72: The calm before the storm

No doubt his true mate had been so terrified to see his inner wolf last night that he fled the room while Zen slept.

He had not intended to be so rough especially with a virgin and Lithe must have been traumatized by the pain.

Zen stood there for a few minutes contemplating the best way to tell Lithe that they had gone far beyond being 'fake mates.'

In the eyes of the Starke Tribe they were legally wed the moment they established a connection and mind linked as true mates. 

Their bond was so deep and intimate that the closest thing to it in the human world was the act of marriage. 

The fact that Lithe was so naïve and from the Vallance continent complicated things because anyone from Allerdyce would be aware of what had just transpired between them. 

"I should not have slept with you during your heat, you were clearly not thinking straight and-"

Lithe cut him off, "it's my decision, it's what I wanted."

Zen said nothing.
