Lyn snuggled into Kael's chest as he carried her into the room. With a soft voice, she said,

"Husband... I feel... tainted... unclean," she whispered. "If I can maybe have some time to bathe and change into cleaner clothes."

Kael didn't stop until he was inside the bathroom, then he placed Jacquelyn inside the bathing tub.

"Thank you," she muttered. "I'll just remove these and—" she tried to reach for the rope in front of her dress, but Kael stopped her hand by interlocking them with his own.

"Stop moving, ferret," he instructed, taking over to undress her. His actions were gentle yet possessive. "Tonight we'll bathe together as husband and wife for the first time." Even though he had more plans than that, something they had ignored all these times. Their actual wedding night, but a bath was a start.
