Chapter 173: Two voices...one secret

Jacquelyn rubbed her forehead, a small yawn escaping her lips. She had so much fun during the day, but she was also exhausted. It felt as though it had been two days since she left the castle, and now she needed rest. Just yesterday, she was out fighting for her life, but today she was happily enjoying her time with Kael.

She turned to make sure Kael was still behind her. He strode casually with his hand dipped in his pocket, the usual bored look Jacquelyn was familiar with had returned to his face, but his shoulders were a bit more relaxed.

Feeling Jacquelyn's gaze, Kael settled his eyes on the girl's face without saying anything. Jacquelyn smiled and turned around; she wanted to make sure he was still there, and that they were walking inside the house together to sleep in the same room.
