Jacquelyn touched her neck to ensure she hadn't been bitten, even by mistake. It hadn't even been an hour since she arrived at the house, but she had already escaped death twice in a row not to mention what she saw them doing. And the vampire in front of her seemed to become more handsome every time he made her life miserable.

The princess didn't want to say anything to him right now. She knew better; staying with Kael for a few days had turned her into an adult overnight. She was about to make a grown-up decision, one that involved returning to the palace. It didn't matter that she was called the cursed princess. All she had to do was hide her face and stay in the isolated quarters, but at least she would be alive. Nobody would see her as a meal, turn her into a coachwoman, or even take her hunting… Jacquelyn's mind trailed off. Maybe that was her idea, but still! The palace was the safest place for her if she wanted to age like a normal girl.
