Chapter 24: Wherever you go, I go

Jacquelyn sighed as she walked into the room that had somehow become her own. Heading straight to the bathroom, she removed her wet shirt and the soaked piece that was supposed to cover her breasts. Then, she filled the bathtub with water.

Sinking deeper into the warm water, Jacquelyn closed her eyes, letting the soothing liquid melt over her skin, washing away the fatigue and stress of the day. Her hands moved slowly, caressing her skin as she cleaned herself.

As the princess bathed, her thoughts drifted to the strange and terrifying events that had happened in just one day. From passing out, discovering that she now lived with a vampire king, to going to the forest with Ballister.

"Ballister..." Jacquelyn muttered, realizing she hadn't seen the boy since they returned, which worried her. Kael, however, didn't seem concerned in the least. The memory of Kael's piercing gaze flashed in Jacquelyn's mind, distracting her from her original train of thought.
