Chapter 136: Blade

Valeria suddenly heard a guttural scream echo across the battlefield. Its unnatural tone sending chills down her spine.

She hesitated in her attack and her gaze snapping to the side. At that moment, Erik's boot crashed into her face. The impact sent her reeling and she tumbled backward, her grip on her sword loosening for a moment.

She gritted her teeth, rage boiling within as she steadied herself with eyes narrowed at Erik. But then her attention shifted to where the scream had come from.

She saw Ragi lying motionless on the ground as a charred and twisted heap. Mia was only a few meters away and she also collapsed on her knees. Her face pale with exhaustion.

"What in just happened?!" Valeria thought, her eyes narrowing as she tried to piece together the scene.
