… (1 Day Later)
A boy of about 15 year old sat by the window in an elegantly designed room. The chair he sat down on was made of leather yet oddly very comfortable.
The boy had light skin, blue hair and red eyes. He had a sculpted face that could easily be called handsome.
His red eyes scanned his surroundings as he looked for any unauthorized visitors.
His eyes were cold and his body was visibly relaxed, he was good at faking emotions, to himself at least. If he were in front of a crowd he wasn't sure that he would be able to hold this seemingly cold exterior.
The boy's name was Hereon.
Hereon Hachiman.
His mind was in turmoil.
Just a single night remained until the clan trial, the event that would mark whether he deserved to be a part of the main clan, and also the son of the second elder!
And it was also his next meeting with the two people he despised the most.
"Jason Hachiman and Zane Hachiman." Hereon growled as the thoughts resurfaced.
Jason was the disgrace of the clan that had no potential for mana, if he was born with light skin at least he wouldn't have no aptitude for magic.
Beside that, the dark-skin had the guts to reject his offer. How did the boy have the guts to reject the chance of surviving past tomorrow.
It was old news in both the main family and the branch families that a dark-skinned boy was born into the clan. The clan had formed a pact that prevented them from spreading this information to any outsider of the clan, including members of the 5 greatest clans.
"That trash's arrogance is above the heavens! Does he think I won't retaliate for what he has done?!" Hereon restrained himself lest he be caught.
In his eyes Jason's biggest feats were breaking Titania's fingers, even though it should have been impossible since she was strengthened with mana while Jason was absolutely neglected. Hereon summed it all up to some elder helping him in disguise, but Jason would be unfortunate.
"What happens in a dungeon stays in a dungeon." Hereon muttered through a vicious grin. His mind was clouded with how he would kill Jason.
No elder would be able to enter the dungeon or it would cause a dungeon destabilization.
Then he could swiftly kill Jason.
That thrash didn't deserve a long or painful death.
Zane on the other hand was a whole different matter.
Unlike Jason he could never ask Zane to become his subordinate.
Zane was already a rank 4 awakened.
Meanwhile, Hereon was stuck at rank 5.
Even though Hereon was the older one he still lost to Zane.
It just irked him that there was someone who existed that surpassed him, even the son of the 1st elder couldn't beat him when they battled.
Zane was on another level.
Hereon wasn't content with being second best.
He planned to overthrow Zane by gathering a large amount of subordinates and take over as the new clan head. That was why he met Jason and asked him, he wanted to train his leadership skills.
Only to be rejected in a heartbeat and his sister's finger broken.
Jason was truly unforgivable.
Hereon felt his organs become distorted, his heart had stopped beating.
He was unperturbed by this occurrence, he had mana in his veins. He would be able to last for 3 minutes.
By then his heart would continue breathing.
Hereon let out a chuckle.
"Those two really get riled up." Hereon said to himself.
Because of his anger he had began to take short breaths. He was practicing the breathing technique.
It was what he believed would be the ace in the hole in the clan trial.
Unfortunately it was very hard to learn and even harder to master, it required something much more profound than short or long breaths.
Using the breathing technique would speed up his movements, increase the weight behind his punches, increase his constitution, and if he decided to add mana to his movements his stats would increase even more.
Zane had mastered the breathing technique, he had shown off on the day where he fought the members of the "golden generation".
Not one of them left without a single broken limb, an unfortunate someone even lost an arm and a leg.
Zane was a monster, but overtime he would overcome that obstacle.
A dark chuckle escaped Hereon's lips as he got up from the chair, his heart had started breathing again and he continued to practice the breathing technique.
As the boy shut the window he smirked maliciously.
"I don't have to worry about Zane. By the time he even knows who I am, he would already be dead." He was practically grinning like a madman.
His plan was perfect and all it needed was 50 years or so before it would finally being as it was planned.
Indeed.
Everything would go according to plan!
…
The morning sky was painted light blue as the sun wasn't in its full blossom. There were no cocks in the Hachiman main clan compound so there was nothing that would wake up the residents.
A pair of red eyes suddenly opened.
It was Hereon.
There was no morning grouchiness.
It was as if he was always awake.
The youth jumped out of the bed before going to a corner of his room where a mirror lay.
Glass wasn't a scarce resource. It was normal for anyone to have a mirror.
But society thought that a dark-skinned human being would obviously commit suicide if he or she saw himself everyday.
And they just didn't like dark-skinned people.
Hereon looked in the mirror for sometime before performing his morning activities.
By the time he finished it was already 7'am.
"It's already time." Hereon muttered to himself before wearing a combat gi.
A blue shirt over a scarlet red gi.
It was a perfect combination.
The hair of all the members of the main clan of the Hachiman clan were blue.
The ones that awakened the Null Eyes got matching blue eyes. But those that didn't get the Null eyes had Red eyes; the red eyes were a sharp contrast to their blue hair but it gave them a boost in their sight.
Hereon walked out of his lavish house, he had the place all to himself.
He went through a familiar route, if he didn't know this path he would have to guts to call himself Titania's sister as he had even learned it the first time he was taken here.
It was Titiania's house.
Hereon entered immediately before going to the bedroom and knocking on the door.
"I'm coming, just came out of the shower." Titania's voice came through.
"Well be fast, the elder will be here any minute." Hereon said.
His thoughts were a far cry from what he was thinking of last night.
There was no doubt about it, Hereon had a sister complex.
Hereon's mind went to the trial that would be coming up in the next few hours; in the next few hours his body and mind would be pushed to the very limits.
He had never fought monsters before, neither had he fought anyone with the intent to kill him.
Hereon just hoped that he would be able to overcome the challenge with his sister!
