Eris merely smiled, unbothered by the accusation. "Trouble? I call it living. Besides, isn't it more interesting this way?" Her gaze slid to Adrian, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes. "Wouldn't you agree, darling?"
Adrian held up a hand, his patience fraying. "Enough. I didn't come here to mediate your grudges. We are all adults, so let's all act like one."
A tense silence followed his words, broken only by the soft rustling of leaves and the distant cry of a bird.
Finally, Selene spoke, her voice calm and measured. "He's right. You've each made our bargains. Whatever resentments you hold, let them lie for now."
The goddesses exchanged glances, their expressions shifting from anger to reluctant acceptance. Lilith, with a final roll of her eyes, gave a dismissive wave. "Fine. I'll behave… for now."
