Shimura Danzo's face was shrouded in gloom. The Uchiha clan suddenly made a move, making things difficult for him.
After Itachi left the Hokage's office, both Danzo and Hiruzen made their way toward a secret passage behind a wall.
"The situation is getting out of control. We don't have much time left."
Danzo is indeed willing to sacrifice himself for Konoha, that's how devoted he is. As long as it is for the safety of the village itself, he doesn't mind it. But he is not willing to be sacrificed, or even be harmed for a little bit for useless things such as the current matter.
Sarutobi Hiruzen shook off the ashes in his pipe, his face was grim. "I'll take care of all of it. All you had to do was just not show up during this period. I will appease the Uchiha clan first... and then proceed in your plans after."
"This is more like the Sarutobi Hiruzen I know." Danzo's grim expression softened a little.
"I thought you were going to say, 'Sarutobi Hiruzen, you will regret this later.'" Sarutobi joked.
The corners of Danzo's mouth twitched. He was about to rebuke but was quickly interrupted.
"I'm being serious. There's something wrong with the Uchiha clan nowadays. You should be extremely careful." Sarutobi Hiruzen restrained his smile and warned.
"... I know that already."
Danzo is not a brainless reckless man.
He was well aware of the horror that would result if the entire Uchiha clan went crazy, as much as he wanted to downplay them almost all the time.
Konoha already suffered heavy losses during the Nine-Tails attack and has not recovered to this day.

"I don't trust him," Danzo said bluntly. "Even though he sides with us, I still trust my own people more than the Uchiha people!"
Hiruzen was not angry at Danzo's retort. He was expecting this response anyway.
He said all this on purpose.
As his only friend, no one understands Danzo better than him.
If he directly asks for the withdrawal of troops, no matter the amount of it, Danzo will definitely not agree.
So he had to propose a pretty ridiculous request first, something that Danzo would for sure disagree with, then take a step back and propose a new one. In nine out of ten cases, against Danzo, this works.
"What you said makes sense. Then we should withdraw only the visible ones and only leave the few secret ones behind."
Danzo, albeit with a lingering frown, nodded slightly, agreeing, and then asked. "What do you think of this, Kayne Uchiha?"
"Hmm... What I think is that he's nothing but a puppet pushed to the front by that old antique Uchiha Setsuna."
Noticing Danzo's weird expression on his face, Hiruzen can't help but ask. "Are you going to get rid of him?"
Danzo said coldly: "Yes, regardless of whether he is Uchiha Setsuna's puppet or not, the abilities this person shows are quite dangerous."
Through his surveillance personnel, Danzo discovered that Kayne Uchiha showed a completely different kind of inflammatory power.

Hiruzen looked at Danzo's figure disappearing into the darkness and shook his head helplessly.
"Order all ninjas not to stop the Uchiha clan." He ordered the Anbu who was hiding in the dark. "Also, make all the clan leaders of the big and small ninja clans come here."
"By the way, don't forget to inform Might Guy."
Today, I have to act and clean up the mess for that idiot Danzo Shimura!
Alas, being a qualified Hokage is so difficult, why can't anyone help him share the burden?
Sarutobi Hiruzen shook his head and put the thought behind him.
On the other hand, after receiving the notice from the Anbu ninja, the first reaction of the ninja clan leaders was not to go out.

"Should we let them come up or stay downstairs?"
"Just downstairs." Sarutobi Hiruzen left his chair, grabbed the hat on the desk, and put it on his head.
After that, they finally went outside, ready to confront the storm that was heading fast their way.
