Chapter 46: Chapter 46

" How many?" asked Jon.

"About 8000," said the mercenary.

"There aren't as many as the Dothraki," Danny said.

"They're different," Jon said.

"The golden company is the most powerful mercenary company in Essos my queen, each soldier is extensively trained, they have great discipline and strategic experts," Ser Barristan said.

Jon nodded.

"I still remember their training in Volantis, they were incredible" he whispered.

"They are made up of 10,000 men. Their forces include 500 knights and 500 squires, each with a horse. 1,000 archers and at least two dozen elephants," Daario said with a frown.

" At least total, but these eight thousand will only be a couple of elephants, and possibly their entire stable," said another mercenary.

"Elephants are not easy to transport," Jon said.

The others nodded.

"They are still at least ten days away," said Arya.

Jon nodded.

"They won't get here, it's too dangerous to allow them through," he said.

"Will we attack them?" asked the Yunkai mercenary.

Jon nodded.

"We will use a triple attack, during the nights...Inform Yunkai and Asaptor" he said.

Daario nodded and left the throne room.

"Triple attack?" Danny asked.

"They'll come on foot, instead of by boat, elephants don't tolerate boats...We will take advantage of the desert," he said.

"Targeting their resources would be a good strategy," Ser Barristan said.

Jon nodded.

"Yes, without resources, they'll only die in the deserts," he said.

"There is also the Dothraki sea, with the death of Khal Drogo, many Dothraki will want to attack to gain prestige, possibly the old masters will use them," said another mercenary.

[T/N: UHUUHUU!! Actually, that makes sense, he didn't defeat him in combat so they won't acknowledge him as the new Khal.]

"Possibly, but there is no information about that, we must use what we have, for now, the enemy is the golden company," he said.

"What about Valyria?" Arya asked.

Jon denied.

"It's still under construction, our soldiers are needed there, we know they won't come by boat, we will use a three-directional night raid to corner them," he said.

"Eliminating the elephants is the first priority," the boy heard and nodded.

"Ten days, enough time...Gray Worm, Take charge of preparing the unsullied, we leave first thing tomorrow morning," he said.

The former slave nodded.

Sansa was still in her tent, right now a dozen Dothraki women trapped after the battle were helping her with the medicine. Some men were guards.

The girl healed most of them after the battle, they began to worship her as The saint, as the former slaves call her.

The daughter of the gods.

Sansa didn't know how to feel about that.

The girl sighed tiredly.

She looked at her assistants, they had improved a lot, and even the Dothraki who were there recently seemed to recognize the medicinal herbs and potions.

Her assistants cut, crushed, and mixed various ingredients with skill.

The girl smiled as she saw her companions.

In Westeros, only the maesters mastered the healing arts.

Maybe also the occasional forest witch.

But here in Essos, it was worse, there were no large cities with knowledge.

Their medical sciences were quite mediocre.

There were no cultural, medical, or educational organizations.

At least not that the girl has seen.

Sansa looked back at her assistants. Then she shook her head as she should focus on her patients.

Another man passed by and she gave him a cape of flowers and cast a dozen spells, she saw a flash.

She entered the white room.

"A level up..." she said and continued to the computer.

{Congratulations, you have leveled up!

The girl tiredly pressed on the white magic skill.

{The player has selected the White Magic skill.

Do you want to raise the white magic skills level to level 7?}

The girl pressed yes. And she felt a heat run through her that was suffocating.

{White magic level: 7 acquired

Cure diseases: Cure any disease.}

The girl looked at that in shock.

"Any illness? " she thought frantically.

Then she shook her head.

She shouldn't get so excited.

First, she had to Experiment.

She pressed exit.

She turns to her main assistant.

"We will begin to treat more sick people, I will try to cure them as best I can, be sure to inform the citizens, we will attend to these types of illnesses on reduced hours, but we will do it," she said.

The assistant nodded and left to deliver the information.

"We'll have to see"

Bran looked at his people as they walked towards the wall, they had left the village with the children of the forest, and the citizens, after crowning him as the king beyond the wall.

The free people took their belongings and food. And he left immediately.

The boy didn't know how to get them through the wall.

"BEAR!" the boy heard.

He saw the beast approaching at high speed.

"Water trap," he whispered.

A hole opened in the ice and the animal fell.

It made a sound of surprise as it fell into the water, but quickly climbed up and started running.

"It's persistent," Bran murmured.

He levitated himself to be high in the sky.

The animal stopped when it saw him and grunted.

"Lightning," the boy said.

An electric discharge passed through his fingers, and it came out like a lightning bolt against the animal. He screamed when as he was wet, the electricity burned him alive.

"Can we get some resources from him?" he asked.

"The skin is burned, but the meat is still useful" He heard from a savage who took out a knife and began to remove the meat.

He nodded and approached Meera.

"If you keep playing tricks like that, you'll leave us nothing," she clarified.

Bran shrugged.

"Poor bear" He heard Leaf.

He turned to her and saw her sitting on the shoulders of a giant.

"I'm sorry, but he would have attacked us," he said.

"It's their nature," she said.

" Do children get along with giants? " Bran asked.

" We are natural enemies, in the past, there were wars between the two, we killed each other " she clarified.

Bran looked confused.

"You seem to get along with him?" he asked.

She looked at him calmly.

"He's a baby, he's not even sixty years old," she said calmly.

"Baby," he thought, seeing the immense being.

"Besides, the past is the past, now there is only one enemy," she said.

"The walkers" Bran thought.

It was like living in an old Tata's story.

Children of the forest.

Skinchanger.

Giants.

White walkers.

Bran still couldn't believe everything that had happened in these few years.

He levitated himself down to Hodor who carried him.

He felt uneasy.

Robb looked at Royse carefully.

"Why? " He asked calmly.

"Orders," he said.

"My father was in the valley all his childhood, you know him, you know that Joffrey is not the true king of the seven kingdoms," he said.

"That is correct, I do not care about Joffrey, but the guardian of the valley has knelt to him, as such it is my duty to follow him," he said.

"Menique?" he said.

"He is Aunt's widower, and Robin's stepfather," he said.

Robb found out about that too, Lisa Arryn Tully committed suicide. Leaving her new husband in charge of the valley until his cousin is old enough.

"Lock him up," the king whispered, Royse was escorted out.

Shortly after, Menique entered.

"His majesty," he greeted with a smile.

"I see you happy Lord Baelish, given the circumstances," he said.

Menique's smile widened.

"Why not? We failed, but we tried, that's what counts, at least at King's Landing," he said.

"Oh, so you mean this was planned," Robb said.

Menique denied.

"Of course not, we did our best, after all those were King Joffrey's orders," he said.

"Do you expect me to let you go?" he asked.

Menique nodded.

"We are family, I was a close friend of your mother, husband of her late aunt, and I am the father of your cousin," he said.

"Family, you consider yourself family after giving the order to attack my men," he said.

"Joffrey ordered the attack, I only sent the men, after all, the valley is still part of the seven kingdoms and as such, Joffrey's," he said.

"A king born of incest, of the queen and her brother," he said.

Menique nodded.

"I believe it, I believe what Ned Stark said, I believe without a doubt that you want justice. "But believing it and proving it are different things, King Robb," he said.

Robb frowned.

"If I simply give you the valley, they accuse me of treason, and they have the right to do so, your majesty, if King Joffrey, who until there is conclusive evidence declares the Starks traitors, I, as the lord of the valley, must abide by his orders," he said.

Robb raised an eyebrow.

"Are you expecting mercy because you were just following orders?" he asked.

Menique smiled.

"I hope that King Robb, no matter how angry he is with the valley, understands the situation," he said.

"Situation?" asked the king of the north.

"Of course, he thinks that the valley has something against the north, we have all secretly supported your war, even though we couldn't help you...But the situation is simple, King Robb is Lisa's family, and if she needed help In the past, King Robb would have come, no one doubts that," he said.

Robb looked him in the eyes and he continued.

"But as you know what happened to Lisa's brother," Menique said.

The king of the north frowned, they didn't have to remind him of his uncle, a prisoner of the Freys.

"A betrayal occurred," he said.

Menique nodded.

"Of course, I don't blame them, but you must understand the reasons, it's not true. If the valley supports King Robb, the Lannisters would come for us, just as they did in the river country, Lisa planned to wait for you to have enough strength to give them your support against the lions, but the Freys passed, Cat died and Lisa consumed by grief, ended up committing suicide. She tried to support you, but she was destroyed... If she didn't obey King Joffrey's orders, the valley would currently have been invaded, and then the north would face all of their cavalry, not the small bunch I brought," he said.

Robb looked at the man with a frown.

"Are you saying this attack was an excuse to have a private meeting?" he asked.

"Do you know of any more private meeting than this?" Menique asked with a smile.

"Thousands have died," Robb said.

Menique nodded.

"And many more will follow" he promised him.

Robb sighed.

"What do you propose?" asked the king.

"I can give you support from the valley and information about King's landing," he said.

"In exchange for freeing you?" he asked.

"No, it would be good if it were just that, but my duty is to the valley. I will bow the knee, and return to the valley a kingdom that has accepted Robb Stark, as its king. But you must prove you can defeat your enemies first," he said.

"What good are your men and information if I have to wait to take King's Landing before you kneel?" Robb said.

Menique laughed.

"Of course, that is feasible, I am not asking you to eliminate the Lannisters, but during the war, other enemies rose up, and the valley cannot support you, as long as we have the Lannisters behind, the Freys in front and above, the problem of the ironborn," he said.

"So when the Freys and Ironborn fall? " he said.

Menique nodded.

"In time, I will improve my army, If King Robb takes control of the land of the rivers and the iron islands...The valley will be yours" he finished.

"Very well, I can handle that, we will let them go, but we will keep half of their horses and some nobles to keep up appearances," he said.

"Of course," Menique said with a sly smile.

XXXXXXXXXXXX

"Are you seriously going to let them go?" Dacey asked, watching Royse and Menique leave the place on horseback with thousands of his men.

"We need allies to finish off the Lannisters," he said.

"I didn't trust him," she said.

"Neither do I...But now it's all I can do," he said.

Dacey nodded.

"Any good news?" he asked.

"Oh, no news about the army, from Val or from Winterfell, as for me, I raised my level, I'm level three now, and I got an improvement in my skill...Your queen rose three levels by healing people, and some of the valley apparently will become famous in the mountains," she said.

"Oh, I'm already level seven, if I don't hurry you'll surpass me," the worried man murmured before the amused look of his lover.
