Chapter 161: Chapter 161: The Punching Bag

Seeing that it was still early, Link took the opportunity to visit the Big Falls Bar that Ivanka had mentioned and met the second person she recommended.

The man was a white rock singer named Orlando Nathan. He sang well and looked decent, but he was thin with a tired face, clearly a drug addict.

Link decided against signing him. He might be talented, but he was also a troublesome talent, and Link hated trouble.

---

Ding dong! Ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong!

"Coming, stop pressing the doorbell!"

Link was training in the gym in the morning when he heard the urgent ringing of the doorbell. Just by the rhythm of the ringing, he could guess that the visitor was probably Selena.

He opened the door, and there stood the annoying Selena.

She had a loose braid, wore a blue floral dress, and was standing on tiptoe, pressing the doorbell on the wall with an excited smile on her round face. Seeing him open the door, she pouted in disappointment.

"How old are you? Still playing such childish games?"

Link asked helplessly.

"Hmph!"

Selena wrinkled her nose, with an expression that said "I like it."

"Selena, you have the key. Why are you ringing the doorbell?"

Katherine and Ms. Mandy came from behind, carrying bags of groceries.

Link was often not in New York, so he left a key for them and asked them to arrange for someone to clean the house regularly.

Selena ran over, took a bag, and said righteously, "He's a grown man at home. What if I suddenly opened the door and he wasn't dressed? That would be so awkward."

"What are you thinking about all day?"

Ms. Mandy rolled her eyes at her.

Link shook his head with a smile, took the bags, and invited them in.

It was the weekend, and no one had to work. Katherine and Ms. Mandy said they would come to his house for a gathering and cook some delicious food for him. Link readily agreed.

Katherine and Ms. Mandy were busy in the kitchen, cooking up a storm.

Link was watching the news on the living room sofa, while Selena, swinging her braid, paced around the house, unable to sit still.

Link saw on the internet that her fans called her "little princess," describing her as quiet, cute, ladylike, and very likable.

If her fans knew what she was like in private, he wondered if they would turn against her.

"Link, do you know how to use all the equipment in the gym?"

Selena came out of the gym, holding a pair of pink dumbbells. They were Taylor's dumbbells, weighing 20 pounds each.

"Of course! Do you want to work out? I recommend you lift barbells and build some muscles. You could star in 'Charlie's Angels 3' in the future."

Link encouraged her.

"No way! Too much muscle doesn't look good on girls. Don't try to trick me."

Selena put the dumbbells on his stomach and picked up a bag of chips, stuffing them into her mouth.

"We're about to eat."

Link took the chips and dumbbells and put them on the counter, earning a big eye roll from Selena.

Selena grabbed the remote and switched to the MTV music channel. The TV was playing the top ten music videos of April.

There was Taylor's "You Belong With Me," Britney Spears' "Womanizer," Lady Gaga's "LoveGame," U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name," George Michael's "Freedom," Eminem's "We Made You," and Link's two songs, "Despacito" and "Unstoppable."

Link's "Despacito" was filmed in a Latino community in Los Angeles, and the dancers and models involved were all Latino.

The choreography was done by Hollywood's top choreographer, Glenn Hanks, who specialized in Latin dance, modern dance, and ballet, and had choreographed the "High School Musical" series.

The total investment for this MV exceeded $1 million.

However, after it was uploaded, fans generally felt that although the artistry of this version was higher than the original, and the video and sound were clearer, it wasn't as lively and interesting as the original.

It also lacked a major highlight, which was the hot figure of Miss Tomp.

This MV was released on YouTube for a week, and the number of views was only over 1.1 million, far less than the 20 million views of the original.

In comparison, the "Unstoppable" MV received more positive reviews.

The MV told the story of an underdog boxer who kept fighting for his dream, eventually defeating an opponent everyone thought he couldn't beat, and winning love.

Link himself played the male lead in the MV, and the female lead was supermodel Doutzen Kroes, a blonde beauty.

Because the male and female leads were very attractive, and the storyline was touching, it was rated as one of the top ten music videos in April by MTV.

"It's so fake. How could an underground boxer have such a beautiful girlfriend?"

Selena pouted.

"Why not? Don't forget he's a very handsome boxer."

Link said.

Selena blinked her big eyes, put one leg on the sofa, turned her head, and shook his arm. "Link, you told me you were a big player and had several girlfriends, but I've only seen Taylor. Where are the others? Is this Doutzen Kroes one of them?"

"Of course not Doutzen, she's Taylor's friend."

Link shrugged. When filming this MV, Taylor came to the set and watched them film the kissing scene. That scene took four takes to pass, and Taylor teased him afterwards, saying he did it on purpose.

Link cried out in injustice. Even if someone did it on purpose, it couldn't be him, after all, Taylor was watching. How could he dare?

"Is that big-chested girl Ivanka one of them?"

Selena asked curiously.

"No!"

"Then who is it? Tell me quickly. I promise, I absolutely, absolutely won't tell Taylor."

Selena pursed her lips and said seriously.

"Are you sure you can keep it a secret?"

"Really! I swear, tell me quickly."

Selena shouted excitedly.

"Good, you're indeed my sister. We're both good at keeping secrets, so... I won't tell you."

"You!"

Selena glared at him, her nostrils flaring, with an expression that said "You've angered me, come and coax me."

Link flicked her forehead lightly with his finger.

Boom!

Selena immediately exploded, shouting and pouncing on him.

Link calmly held an apple and extended three fingers to stop her forehead, blocking all her attacks at arm's length.

Selena couldn't reach him even with her punches and kicks, and she was furious. During dinner, she puffed out her cheeks like an inflated pufferfish.

"What's wrong?"

Katherine looked at Selena, who was sulking at Link, with a smile.

"He's bullying me."

Selena said angrily.

Link chuckled and focused on the Italian food on the table: minestrone soup, grilled lobster, braised beef shank, caesar salad, milanese risotto, spaghetti bolognese, and prosciutto pasta – a table full of Mediterranean flavors.

The food looked, smelled, and tasted delicious, so he had no time to talk.

"Link, will eating this affect your weight?"

Ms. Mandy asked.

"No, two more hours of training will burn it off."

Link said, eating grilled lobster with greasy fingers.

"Eat more if you like it."

Katherine served him a bowl of clam chowder.

Selena furrowed her delicate brows and looked at her mother and Katherine. "I just said Link was bullying me, and you didn't even ask how he bullied me?"

"Eat quickly, and don't talk so much."

Ms. Mandy stuffed a piece of shrimp into her mouth. "Even if Link bullied you, it's your fault. You should reflect on yourself instead of making a fuss here."

Selena was stunned, pointing at her nose. "I was bullied, and I have to reflect on myself? Did my own mother just say that?"

"This beef is also good, try it."

Link stuffed a piece of beef into her mouth, stopping Selena from saying anything.

Selena chewed the delicious shrimp and beef, staring at him angrily, deciding to eat first and then seek revenge when she had the energy.
