Chapter 175: Outsmarting Everyone

The first course of action Lotus took after being confined to her room was to dismiss her maids with the excuse she had a headache and wanted to be left alone.

Once they were gone, closing the door behind them, she threw open her window and whistled twice with a slight interval between the first whistle and the second. 

It was a way to communicate with the hawk shifter, he had been staying on the nearby trees in her garden, in case Lotus needed to send a message.

She tried to poke her hand out but the invisible barrier prevented her action. Her father had placed a restricting spell around her room so she wouldn't be able to escape. 

Hearing her call, he flew over and perched himself on her window sill. 

Lotus promptly opened the window, letting him in. People could enter her room but she couldn't leave.
