"What? Heat? What's that? Did you do something to me? You barbarian," Cassandra seethed out. She had no clue how female shifters usually went into heat after being marked so they could bond with their partners, intimately.

Since Cassandra was human, they had anticipated that she wouldn't go through the same changes and that heat wouldn't be caused. 

Seemed like they were wrong. 

Siroos had no clue how to explain the whole heat cycle to his mate, who was barely holding on. Her whole body was drenched in sweat and her light pink gown clung to her body like a wet sheet. 

He was thankful she didn't have claws or she would have scratched his eyes out and left marks on his whole body. Her hand was clutching his shoulder in a grip he had never seen her use before. She was scantily holding onto her sanity.
