Chapter 113: Chapter 113 : Alternate Reality ?
It could be anyone else but why him, Shika closed his eyes for just a second to lament his luck and then again went back to his nonchalant attitude.
"How many times do you wanna get beaten before you stop challenging me Sasuke ?" Shika said in a monotone voice, he was facing the teen Sasuke but his eyes were on the adult Sasuke and Boruto.
"Don't get full of yourself, you won by just a hair length last time. Fight me again." Kid Sasuke said, almost shouting in anger. He has been trying to beat Shika ever since Shika told him that he would get all the answers he wanted if he showed that he was ready.
Naturally, in pure ninja fashion, that means that he has to beat Shika which honestly Shika hadn't seen happening for some time, now that he has made much progress in Zabuza's skills, though maybe not power vice but surely in skills he was closer to a Jonin.
He was grinding hard when he was in Tsunade's retrieval mission.
"Just mere excuses, talk when you really beat me. And no, that hag finally gave me a free day, there is no way I am wasting it on fighting with you, I am taking today slow and not doing anything which might even slightly resemble like a drag." Shika said with a bored tone making teen Sasuke fume. Hinata on the side frowned hearing what Shika was calling Tsunade thought she also found it a little funny, trying to hide her chuckle at Shika's usual antics.
But the real show was on both adult Sasuke and Boruto's side. While Boruto was glaring at the teen Sasuke and then looking back at adult Sasuke to compare, Adult Sasuke had his one visible eye widened in disbelief. He wasn't supposed to be in Village, he should have gone with Orochimaru by now.
He quickly wanted to open his Sharingan to see whether this was an illusion of some sort but refrained himself but after getting rejected by Shika, Teen Sasuke's attention was drawn to the two strangers, the bond reminded him of Naruto, while the older man.
Teen Sasuke narrowed his eyes, becuase this man looked a lot like Itachi. Though Itachi wasn't even in his 20s while this man was in his 30s.
Adult Sasuke's mind was racing, wondering what went wrong, he knew that there was no person named Shika in the past nor his younger self should be in the village. With how Hinata behaved which was a sharp contrast to the past, he was sure that either they had come to an alternate reality and not just time travel or this world was different because of Shika. At least this was the only character who he can't seem to remember from the past. So it's worth looking into him.
If this was an alternate reality then he doesn't care but if this was their past then it's very concerning, becuase what happened here will define their future, 'Aka' their present.
"Hm… you are just afraid that I will beat you…" Sasuke made one last try to make Shika fight him, Shika on the other hand just rolled his eyes.
Even someone like Hokage will have a hard time assigning him a mission today, let alone him.
"Come on Hinata, I wanted to check your training on water jutsu for a long time." Shika huffed and grabbed Hinata's hand. Making Hinata freeze for a second and then her face immediately turned red.
Teen Sasuke's eyes twitch at this, seeing how Shika is pretty much ignoring him.
However, It was Boruto's side who was the most distressed…
'What's going on, why this guy who looked like Shikadai is so close to Mom? Where is Dad, do he even know what's going on ?' Alarms started to sound inside his head.
Shika then just walked off with Hinata, not wanting to stay there anymore. He makes it seem like he was running away from Teen Sasuke but actually, he was running away from those time travellers.
Now both Sasuke and Boruto were there alone. Not getting the fight he wanted, Sasuke just huffed with irritation and went away without saying anything.
"Is that really you ?" Boruto asked to Sasuke.
"Yes, it seems so." Sasuke didn't deny it but didn't accept it right away either. He was still lacking info.
"Boruto, I want to look around for a bit, try not to draw too much attention to yourself." Sasuke didn't wait and instantly after saying this vanished for his place, leaving Boruto there alone.
Boruto who was about to ask for permission to either follow his mother or find his father after seeing how Hinata and Shika were together like that, didn't hesitate after Sasuke went away. With his top speed, he followed where both Hinata and Shika went.
But as he went ahead to catch up with both Hinata and Shika, he ended up bumping into someone else entirely. This was a blond-haired boy who was running away with a white hair old white-haired man.
Before poor Boruto even realized what was happening, he joined the two in running away, more like had to, becuase chasing them was a hoard of women with weapons in their hands.

Shika after knowing that two time travellers were in the village didn't actually plan to waste his time with lazing around. He after getting out of there, now had his mind on what he should do.
There is that Urashiki and then there is both Boruto and Sasuke. In the anime, Urashiki died becuase what Shika could say was lazy idiotic writing. How the hell were two 12 or 13-year-olds even able to kill Urashiki in the first place? That was some plot armour bullshit at this peak. He doesn't count on something like that happening here.
So, if Urashiki is really here then he has to be ready. Secondly, he also has to be on guard against Adult Sasuke, there is a possibility that he will look inside his background and try to find out why things are so different then his past.
In which, he was correct as Sasuke right now was doing the same thing, gathering information about what recently happened in the village.
"Hmm Shika Kun…" Hinata's face was like that of a Tomato by now. She slowly said making Shika come out of his daze.
"Hmm yes…?"
"Hmm, you… our hands." Hinata pointed with a huge blush on her face. Making Shika too immediately release her hand with surprise.
"Ah sorry sorry… I almost forgot in my train of thoughts, you see I had to get out of there otherwise Sasuke would have dragged me to fight with him. Sorry again." Shika instantly said. He too was a little flustered.
Hand-holding was nothing for him, something like this only excited those little kids but he did it unconsciously so even he was caught off guard.

I personally haven't seen Boruto and don't plan to involve that seriously more than this arc, so there won't be much of this time-travelling thing.

Chapter 114: Chapter 114 : Outsiders
Naruto was sprinting down the street with Jiraiya, both of them trying to escape a group of furious women. Jiraiya, as usual, had gotten himself into trouble with his antics, and Naruto was caught in the mess. Before even Boruto knew it, he had fallen to their tricks and he too ended up running with them to escape from those women.
As they neared him, Naruto skidded to a halt. "Oi! Who are you?"
Boruto blinked, quickly remembering he couldn't reveal who he really was. "Uh, I'm Haruta!" he said, giving a friendly grin. But that was quickly forgotten when he remembered how both Naruto and Jiraiya left him alone back there.
"That is not important you know, you... you both leave me alone there." Boruto shouted with eyes twitching.
"Ah, don't sweat the small stuff kid. By the way, you run fast, who are you again." Jiraiya said with his usual nonchalant attitude but he when he saw both Naruto and Boruto side by side, his eyes narrowed by a little bit. No one knew what he was wondering.
"Haruta," Boruto said with a little twitch in his eyes but then only he finally realized who he was talking to. This man in front of him was one of the great sannin of the leave.
'He is Jiraiya, the teacher of both Dad and Grandpa...' Boruto's eyes for a second shone, he long wanted to meet this guy, more than anything he wanted to know what was so amazing about that small book of his that no adult let him read it. Was it a Ninja secret, no matter what he did he couldn't get his hands on it, and now he has an opportunity to ask the maker of the book exactly what was in the book.
Naruto tilted his head. "Haruta, huh? Never heard of you before. Are you new in here ?" Naruto squinted his eyes like, looking much like while Jiraiya cackled behind them.
"Yeah, you must be travellers right, how do you like Konoha so far," Jiraiya said that he was more busy comparing both Naruto and Boruto at this point.
The similarities were so staggering that he was starting to get suspicious.
Once they found a safe spot to catch their breath, Naruto introduced himself. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki! Future Dattebayo!... I mean Future Hokag and this is Pervy Sage!"
"Oi oi... who is the Pervy Sage? I am Jiraiya the great Toad Sage of Mayoboku. Kids this day, have no respect..." Jiraiya cried animately making Boruto on the side crackle up but he retrained himself.
Boruto, now "Haruta," smiled, trying to hide his emotions. "AH thank you, I am enjoying myself, just got to Konoha so things are pretty new to me."
Naruto grinned widely. "Oh! then let's go explore Konoha! There's so much to see, come on let's start with Ichiraku Stand!" Naruto was pretty much ready to drag the boy to his favourite Raman stall.
'Again with that ramen stall, what so special about that place ?' Boruto complained internally but went with the boy nonetheless.
Jiraiya also kept up with them, now getting suspicious of what was going on with this boy who looked so similar to Naruto.

Adult Sasuke explored Konoha, he realized that much of it was exactly the same as his own past, making him doubt then why certain things were so different, which left him slightly disappointed and confused.
One key difference stood out, though: in this timeline when Orochimaru attacked the village, both he and the Third Hokage had died together. At first, he didn't believe it seeing who we were talking about here, it's harder to kill that Snake than those Otsutsuki.
But as he gathered more info, he realized that that was exactly the case, otherwise, there was no reason for his younger self to stay in the village by this time.
In his world, only the Third Hokage perished, and Orochimaru survived to cause more chaos. This was a nice change, honestly, he felt a little jealous seeing his younger version still in the village, he himself lost too much back then for practically a goal which wasn't worth running after, but...
This subtle change made Sasuke uneasy. It's mean that the history not gonna be the same as he knew. This was a good thing in some ways but bad in others. The world still will face trouble in upcoming times and their winning in their times was paid with blood but they were also very lucky.
What would happen to this world if things go differently?
Unsure of what to do next, Sasuke decided to observe his younger self, curious if there were any noticeable differences between him and the kid Sasuke of this timeline.
From a distance, Sasuke watched as his younger self trained alone in the forest, practising his taijutsu and honing his skills with intense focus. The young Sasuke looked almost identical to how he remembered himself—determined, driven by anger, and desperate to become stronger. Adult Sasuke couldn't help but feel a strange sense of nostalgia, watching his younger self struggle with the same emotions and ambitions.
'Will he believe if I said that Itachi was not what he believed him to be?' Sasuke pondered, wondering whether his interference could save his brother in this world.
"Some things never change, and maybe that is for the best," Sasuke muttered to himself with a sigh, his expression calm but he felt a little sad seeing how he could change things but even that might not be worth much. At least not for himself.
'Maybe I can help him out a little...' He thought and walked up to the boy, not sure what he wanted to say.

Danzo sat in his dark office, going through various reports, when a Root member appeared, bowing before him.
"Lord Danzo, we've received information about an unknown stranger interacting with the Nine-Tails jinchuriki," the Root member said, his voice low and cautious.
Danzo raised an eyebrow. "A stranger? Who exactly is this person?"
"We do not have much information. He goes by the name Haruta, and we believe he arrived recently, he also was with another man. He's been seen with Jiraiya and the jinchuriki."
Danzo's eyes narrowed in suspicion. A stranger, appearing out of nowhere and interacting with the village's most important asset was concerning. However, upon hearing that Jiraiya was involved, he decided to take a more measured approach.
"Keep a close watch on them. Gather as much information as you can on this Haruta and that other man."
The Root operative bowed again, acknowledging the command. "Understood, Lord Danzo."
Danzo leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. Thanks to right now having no Hokage in position, he had much power, but this was only temporary, he needed a way to get the Hokage's position.
But even he knew that as long as both Tsunade and Jiraiya were in the village that ain't happening.
Not only both are currently stronger than him, at least when it comes to powers that he can't show to others in the open, but they were younger, he was the same age as Hiruzen, and even those advisors would not choose him for this matter.
The biggest problem was Tsunade, no matter whether it's her reputation, her power or her background. There is indeed no better candidate for Hokage other than her. For the time being Danzo really has no idea how to remove her from this race. But...
'Jiraiya... if something happens to the Jinchuriki under Jiraiya's watch, then its not impossible to remove him.
And now that this outsider's arrival gave him a chance...
