Chapter 107: Chapter 107 : Karin's Situation
"Shika Kun… I am so glad you are here, please…please take me away from here. I don't wanna train anymore…" Shouted the red-haired girl with big tears trailing down her cheeks as she grabbed onto Shika and rubbed her tears and snorted at Shika's shirt.
Shika looked at this with both disgust and relief. For the time being he didn't bother talking with Karin. He shifted his attention from the girl to Guy.
"Thank you guy Sensei for taking care of Karin…" Shika replied while bowing.
"Haha… don't worry about something like that Shika… you heal Lee, this is the least I can do for you," said Guy with a classic guy smile on his face.
Shika felt Karin who was still hugging him tightly like he was his last lifeline shredded after seeing that smile.
'Was staying with Guy was too much for the little girl ?.." Shika can't help but silently apologise while thinking about what happened two months ago.

[Flash Back]
After the Konoha Crush, Shika made his way to the hospital. Knowing about Lee's injuries from Gaara, he didn't want to let things go just like in the cannon, he had a change cannon enough that it might not go well and maybe Tsunade might never come back so it's better to heal Lee.
Approaching Guy, who stood outside Lee's room, Shika could see the worry etched on his face.
"Guy-sensei," Shika greeted him calmly.
"Shika, what brings you here?" Guy asked, trying to keep his voice steady despite his obvious concern. He already knew Shika enough thanks to Tenten that he wasn't surprised when he came out of nowhere.
Shika didn't beat around the bush. "I heard about Lee. His condition isn't good, is it?"
Guy sighed, nodding. "The doctors say only someone like Tsunade can heal him. I've been trying to stay positive, Oh Lee this is all my fault, I shouldn't have let that happen." Guy said and then shedded the tears of Youth. Shika just stood trying to ignore most of the daily dose of comedy this world throws at him from time to time.
He nodded, absorbing the weight of the situation. "I can heal him," he said, his tone serious. "But I need something from you in return."
Guy blinked, surprised by the statement. "You? Heal Lee? But…" He didn't finish, not wanting to outright question Shika's abilities. "What do you want in return?"
Well, he didn't believe in Shika but knowing that if he was here then he must needed something.
"I need you to keep this a secret," Shika said, glancing around to make sure no one was listening. "And while I'm away from the village, I want you to protect someone for me. Her name is Karin. You have to make sure no harm comes to her while I'm gone and another Hokage is not appointed."
Guy, still sceptical about Shika's claim, hesitated. "You're saying you can really heal him? Why are you keeping this a secret?"
Shika simply replied, "There are things I can do that I don't want to be common knowledge. You'll understand once it's done. Do we have a deal?"
Though unsure, Guy nodded. "If you can save Lee, I'll protect Karin with my life."
Guy had no idea who this Karin was but he would do it if it really meant that the boy could heal Lee. Though the chances are slim.
Shika then walked into Lee's room. Using his reverse curse technique, he poured energy into Lee's injured body. Slowly, Lee's muscles and bones began to heal, his injuries knitting back together. After a while, Lee stirred, his eyes opening in surprise.
"This…" Guy said in surprise when both Lee and Shika came out of the hospital room together, most importantly Lee was walking on his two legs…
[Flash Back End]

'I didn't want anything in return honestly but I knew that Danzo would not stop just targeting me, Karin being an Uzumaki would also be under his radar. It was important to do something about her safety…' Shika thought and smiled.
"What are you doing, stop clutching to me like a Koala…" Shika gave a bonk at her head, making the girl cutely grab her head with tears still in her eyes.
"What you did that for…" Karin shouted…
"Because you ruined my shirt, do you know how troublesome is doing the laundry…" Shika said without any particular emotion on his face.
Karin looked at Shika with dumbfounded eyes at this. But that was when she realized that she was actually hugging him, her face turning into a tomato, shutting her up.
'Ah, this looked familiar for some reason…'
Shika tries to remember, he swears he has seen this tomato-like face with smoke coming out of his head before.
But Shika just shook his head and let it go.
"Shika San…" Suddenly he heard a voice, this was Lee who rushed at him after spotting him.
"Ah…, I see you are doing good Lee." Shika smiled though suddenly he felt a bad feeling.
He saw a girl coming towards him, this one ain't Karin.
"Tenten… how are,…" Before he could say anything he saw Tenten glaring at him with narrowed eyes.
"You… you didn't tell me you were going out of the village and it's been 4 months since I heard from you ?" Tenten said with clear anger on her face.
"Ahmm, hmm yeah… I am sorry I was very bus…" Shika was saying but Tenten huffed and acted like a Tsundere making Shika internally call out troublesome.
"You will tell me what you were up to all this time, you hear that mister…" Tenten poked Shika's chest like an elder sister demanding money from the younger brother.
Why? Because he was younger, Duh…
'Such a drag, sigh…
He basically came here to check on Karin, nothing more but now the situation was troublesome.
It's not like he didn't want to spend time with Tenten but he rather spend that time with Hinata if possible.
After all, he still had that date pending with her. Wondering how he gonna get out of this situation he was about to come up with an excuse but that was when Anbu came to the field.
Already very cautious of Anbu becuase of Roots and Danzo, he was on defence.
"Shika Nara, you have been called to the Hokage Office…" Anbu said making Shika sigh, as long as it was in Hokage's office, they couldn't be roots.
"He turned to Guy who was still grinning, he bowed down and said…
Thank you again Guy Sensei, please if it's not much to ask then keep training her…"
"What… no, I don't wanna… no no no nn o non on Ono…." Karin continued to shake her head with unwillingness and much soreness in her muscles and body.
"Don't worry… Leave It To Me…" Guy thumps up.
"Thank you." Shika quickly left after saying that while avoiding Karin trying to grab onto him as he mercilessly left her behind.

Chapter 108: Chapter 108 : High Level Meeting
After Tsunade returned to the village, she was quickly escorted to meet with the village elders. As expected, the elders, Homura and Koharu, were eager to discuss one thing: Tsunade taking up the mantle of Hokage.
"Tsunade, we are glad you've returned," Koharu began, her tone serious. "Now, the village needs stability. You are the best candidate to take over as the Fifth Hokage."
Tsunade sighed, already dreading the conversation. This is why she was hesitant to come here in the first place. Though she said earlier that she ain't becoming the Hokage but what's the point of saying that to a little kid like Shika or even Jiraiya for that matter?
The real people who want her to be the Hokage are this elder and probably the Daimiyo.
"I'm not interested in becoming Hokage. I agreed to return to the village, nothing more," she said bluntly.
The elders were taken aback. They hadn't realized that Tsunade had no intention of accepting the position. They turned to Jiraiya to ask what was going on but Jiraiya just averted his gaze like he wasn't even present there.
Seeing this a twitch appears on both of their faces but they calm down, right now making Tsunade take the position for Hokage was more important.
Homura leaned forward. "Tsunade, the village is still recovering from the attack. We need strong leadership, and you are the only one qualified for the job."
Before Tsunade could respond, Jiraiya, who had been sitting silently next to her, spoke up. "You're wasting your breath, trust me. I've been trying to convince her for days. She won't budge."
Both at this snap at Jiraiya, looking at him with pointy monster eyes like saying, ' If you are not helping out then just keep your mouth shut…' Hmph…
Just then, Danzo entered the room, his expression as unreadable as ever. He had been informed of the meeting and decided to join in, knowing the Hokage seat was the topic of discussion. Danzo took his place at the table, carefully observing the room.
"Ah, Danzo," Homura greeted him. "We were discussing the future of Konoha's leadership."
Danzo's eyes flicked toward Tsunade, but he didn't say anything immediately. He was against her becoming Hokage, well he was against anyone becoming Hokage except him honestly, but remained silent now that she was refusing. If Tsunade declined, there might be an opportunity for him though there was also Jiraiya and the Daimyo who wanted either Tsunade or Jiraiya to take the position.
"Tsunade," Koharu said again, more insistent this time, "the village needs someone like you. You must understand the weight of this position. You are the only one who can take this position right now."
Tsunade leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms. "I understand perfectly well. But I'm not taking it. Find someone else."
Jiraiya chuckled lightly at her stubbornness but added, "And I'm also not interested in becoming Hokage, so don't even think about suggesting that again. I'm much better suited for fieldwork."
The tension in the room grew as the conversation went back and forth. Both elders pressed on, trying to convince either Tsunade or Jiraiya to take up the position. Danzo sat quietly, observing their refusal with mild interest. The longer they denied, the better his chances.
"Someone needs to lead the village," Homura stated firmly, his voice growing more authoritative. "This cannot go on much longer."
Tsunade rubbed her temples, growing tired of the debate. "Fine," she said suddenly, catching everyone off guard. "I'll oversee the village for now. I'll guide the office and make sure things don't fall apart. But that doens't mean that I am the Hokage, it's only temporary and there is also a condition—" she said knowing that this old fossil wouldn't let her go if she dont do this but then she putup a finger, grinning mischievously, "there's one condition."
The elders and Jiraiya stared at her, waiting for her to continue. Even Danzo, who had remained silent so far, seemed curious.
"I want a certain Nara under my command," she said with a sly smile.
"Nara…?" The two elders asked and Danzo frowned.
"Shikaku's nefew, Shika Nara. He's the only one who can help me with the work. I won't take no for an answer."
Jiraiya's face fell, and he groaned, "Poor kid, he's never going to forgive me for dragging him back."
The elders exchanged glances, not entirely sure why she would make such a request. Koharu raised an eyebrow. "Shika Nara? Why him?"
Tsunade's grin widened. "He's clever and knows how to get things done, has good medical knowledge and…" Tsunade paused making others expect some big reveal while Jiraiya was sweating bullets, if Tsunade said anything about the kid's unique powers then it would be troublesome…
"…And, I think he'll keep me entertained while I deal with all the boring paperwork."
Jiraiya sighed, shaking his head. "You're going to make his life miserable, aren't you?"
Tsunade didn't deny it, still smiling mischievously.
Danzo, who had been watching quietly, frowned slightly. He wasn't happy with the turn of events, but there was little he could say now that Tsunade had agreed to guide the village.

"So that's what happened…" Jiraiya said to Shika who just come to the Hokage office, Shika after hearing what just happened had his eyes twitching with irritation and anger.
He glared at Tsunade but the busty blond shrugged it off like it was nothing, certainly all that experience from handling those debt collectors was doing wonders to her thick skin.
"Brat, I want you to see me at the Hokage next morning sharp. Don't be late…" Tsunade chirped with a happy tone.
"Don't you feel shame bullying a kid like me ?" Shika retorted.
"Kid?
Madara's ass…
If you are a kid then those council members are angles sent by Sage…."
"Beware… bad karma will haunt you… there will be consequences…"
"I'll take my chances…" Tsunade said with a nonchalant look on her face.
Shika gritted his teeth at this.
"At Konoha office at 5 Am…"
"What… when I will sleep then ?"
"Sleep? What's that…" Tsunade shamelessly cleans her ear wax with her long slender fingers while ignoring Shika making him curse internally.
Shika had a hard time holding back from cursing the wicked woman by now.
