"Come on, come on!" Libre cheered herself on, her competitive side showing.
I managed to get into a rhythm, scoring several baskets in a row. The machine kept track of our points, and it was a close race. Rin's tail flicked back and forth with each successful shot, while Libre's ears perked up whenever she made a basket.
As the timer counted down the final seconds, we made our last shots. The buzzer went off, signaling the end of the game. We looked up at the scoreboard to see the results.
Rin had 45 points, Libre had 42, and I had 46.
Rin pouted playfully, "Ah! You beat me again, Zion!"
Libre laughed, her golden retriever ears flopping as she clapped her hands. "That was fun! But I guess I'll have to practice more to beat you next time~ Woof."
I smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "You both did great. It was a close game."
Rin's expression softened, and she gave me a mischievous look. "You're full of surprises, Zion. Maybe we should make this a regular thing."
"I'd like that," I replied, genuinely enjoying their company.
"Then it's settled," Rin declared with a wink. "Next time, we'll find another game to challenge each other."
Libre nodded, still smiling. "And maybe next time, I'll finally win~ Woof."
As we left the arcade, the sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the city. I felt a sense of camaraderie with Rin and Libre, like we'd become closer friends through our playful competitions. The day had been full of surprises, and I was looking forward to whatever might come next with my new friends.
