Chapter 31: BACK TO THE MANSION

I sat outside on the porch of Pauline's home, holding a cup of tea, feeling the warmth of the cup in my hands. I scanned the area, the tall trees that surrounded the houses built around. It was a beautiful sight to behold, sitting in the midst of nature. The sound of my phone ringing drew me out of my thoughts, I looked around wondering where the sound was coming from, it was then I realized that my phone was with me all along. I slid my hand into my back pocket and brought out my phone, the screen displaying, private number. I scrunched my brows wondering who might be calling me. I placed the cup of tea on the small stool, beside where I was seated. I answered the phone call, placing the phone over my ear.

"Cass!" A male voice said over the phone, his voice laced with fear and concern.
