"However, I refused." Valerie said, a hint of defiance creeping into her voice. "The baby growing inside me became my only source of happiness. I should have hated her because her father rapes me, but somehow, I couldn't muster the courage to hate little Ruby and her twin."

A soft smile touched her lips, memories of that time evident.

"Until Zoey tried to kill me," Valerie's voice dropped to a whisper. "You know the rest of the story."

Greg hugged her neck, his arms wrapping tightly around her. "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that alone," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.

"I'll find that person," Greg vowed, his eyes blazing with determination. "When I find him, he'll wish he never lived."
