Wen Xingyi was also at the restaurant with a few of her close friends, celebrating her special admission by treating them to a meal.
"Wow, Wen Xingyi is really here too!" Jiang Tao exclaimed.
Chen Ye asked, "Didn't you say you wanted to be classmates with her? Why not go say hello?"
"No way…" Jiang Tao replied awkwardly. "I wanted to be classmates with her, but unfortunately, it didn't happen. Chen Ye nodded.
After Jiang Tao settled the bill, the two left the restaurant together.
They headed to the bus stop, planning to take the bus back to school. The restaurant was about three stops away from school; they could walk, but it would take some time. The key was that after eating, Jiang Tao, a bit on the heavier side, didn't feel like walking, so he insisted on taking the bus back.
As for taking a taxi, it felt a bit too luxurious for students.
While waiting at the bus stop, Jiang Tao suddenly noticed something and said, "Old Chen, look at ten o'clock, Wen Xingyi and her friends are also coming to take the bus."
Chen Ye turned to see Wen Xingyi and her friends laughing and chatting as they approached the bus stop.

Just then, the bus arrived, and everyone boarded.

Jiang Tao wanted to sit closer to the girls but saw Chen Ye casually sit down somewhere. He couldn't bring himself to go alone and reluctantly sat next to Chen Ye.
"Old Chen, why sit here? It's such a rare chance to be close to Wen Xingyi! What a waste…" Jiang Tao muttered.
Chen Ye glanced at Jiang Tao, feeling more and more that he should leave the school environment soon. His mindset and habits no longer fit in with these immature students.
As the bus started moving, it crossed a bridge over a roaring river below.
Suddenly, an elderly woman shouted from the front, "Hey, driver, stop the bus! I forgot to get off!"
The bus driver was obviously annoyed, "We're on a bridge. How can I stop? Wait until the next stop."
The old lady, being quite stubborn, retorted angrily, "Why can't you stop? Just pull over for a moment! Hurry up and stop the bus!"
The driver, irritated but aware of how difficult such passengers could be, replied patiently, "Ma'am, we have rules. We can't stop except at designated stops, or we'll be fined a month's salary… The next stop is soon. Please wait."
"What kind of stupid rule is that? I don't care. I need to get off now. I can't walk back from the next stop!" the old lady demanded, grabbing at the driver.
The driver, now furious, shouted, "I'm warning you, don't touch me!"
The lady, even more agitated, yelled, "Oh? Warning me? What, you gonna hit me? Stop the bus now!"
She then reached for the steering wheel.
Seeing this, Chen Ye's face changed. He remembered similar incidents back on Earth, never expecting to see it happen here.
To prevent disaster, Chen Ye immediately moved to stop the lady.
But the driver, seemingly fed up, didn't stop her, allowing the situation to escalate.
With a screech, the bus swerved, crashing into a car and veering off the bridge into the river below.
"Ahhhh!!!"
Everyone on the bus screamed as it plunged into the river, quickly sinking.
Everyone, except Chen Ye, was thrown around, getting severely hurt.
The young people fared better, managing to hold on to something, but the elderly were badly injured, some even unconscious.
Chen Ye, with his high attributes, remained unscathed.
"Ouch! Ouch…" The old lady, holding her shoulder, cried out in pain. Seeing the bus surrounded by water, her face turned pale, realizing the severity of her actions.
