"Jianming, can I see your phone?" Inspector Huang suddenly extended his hand, asking for Liu Jianming's phone.
Liu Jianming was momentarily stunned, a flash of panic crossing his eyes.
Although he masked it well, with his face remaining unchanged, Inspector Huang caught that brief moment of unease.
Initially, Inspector Huang had about seventy to eighty percent confidence in what Chen Ye had said.
Now, Inspector Huang was almost certain that Liu Jianming had a problem.
"Don't misunderstand. My phone ran out of battery, and I need to call my family," Inspector Huang said with a smile.
Hearing this, Liu Jianming had no choice but to lend his phone.
"Sure, here you go."
Liu Jianming quickly composed himself, showing a calm smile.
Inspector Huang took the phone but didn't redial the number Liu Jianming had just called. Although he was almost sure that the call was to Han Chen, dialing it back would alert Han Chen and make him suspicious. If Han Chen got scared and canceled the deal, all the preparations for tonight would be in vain.
For Inspector Huang, catching Han Chen, the root of all the crime, was the most important thing.
So, after taking the phone, Inspector Huang dialed a different number.
"Hello, Mom, I can't come home for dinner tonight... Yes... No need to save any for me, I'll be eating out with colleagues... Okay, got it."
Hanging up, Inspector Huang handed the phone back to Liu Jianming with a smile.
"Thanks."
"No need to be so polite, we're all friends here."

The two walked back inside together.

"A-Ming, why are you smiling so happily?" she said, then leaned in closer and whispered, "Is Liu Jianming under suspicion?"
Hearing this, Chen Ye's heart skipped a beat, and he stared at the middle-aged woman intently.
She remained composed, with a slight smile, meeting Chen Ye's gaze.
At that moment, Chen Ye realized that this middle-aged woman was also a reincarnator, like him.
