Wang Muchen seemed to have been really stimulated by what I said. I was tossed all night. I could only move the appointment forward.
The car dropped me in the parking lot of the building. I stepped out, rubbing the back of my neck in an attempt to ease the tension left from the night before. Wang Muchen really had gone all out, as if trying to imprint something in me.
As I made my way through the parking lot, through the doors and into the lobby, I caught sight of an unexpected face—Li Wen. I hadn't seen him in person since the exams that day and we didn't talk much either.
He smiled, waving me over. "I didn't expect to see you here, Zhu Ming. Are you here to audition as well?"
I blinked, momentarily thrown off. Audition? Li Wen's question reminded me that most people outside my inner circle were unaware of the changes within the company since I'd gone to school.
