Returning to the presidential office, Hirvan stepped into the room. His eyes locked on Elian, who was seated behind the desk.

"Dad, what do you want to do? You can't really bid on that land, can you?"

Hirvan's voice was laced with urgency and worry.

Elian leaned back in his chair, exhaling deeply.

"I am afraid that they had bribed some official. If I don't bid or offer a ridiculously low price, they will know I am onto them."

Hirvan frowned, his brows knitting together as he fell into thought.

In his past life, he had avoided politics and high-level dealings altogether. Now, even though he carried memories from that life, he felt helpless in this regard.

He only vaguely knew that Mara's family were Judges and the Mayor, but they resided in a remote town, far removed from this mess. So he could not learn any inside story from them.
