Chapter 14: Platform Nine and Three-Quarters
September 1st!
In the parking lot of King's Cross Station, Ethan was saying goodbye to his parents with a suitcase.
This suitcase was just a cover, containing some clothes and a box with the traceless extension charm.
The box held numerous books, potion materials collected over time, and miscellaneous items such as the dragon brain frozen with a freezing charm and the corpse of the Murtlap.
The winged demon and the Lethifold were also with him.
The Swooping Evil was relatively easy to manage; Ethan just turned it into a ball and put it in his pocket. This was its dormant form, which existed to camouflage and reduce its energy consumption. It completely lacked the predatory aura typical of dangerous magical animals. As long as it wasn't exposed, no one would know Ethan had such a thing in his pocket.
The dragon brain was prepared for it. Normally, the winged demon only ate the fresh brains of live prey, but the dragon brain was an exception. It ate this happily even if it was frozen. Moreover, dragon brain wasn't expensive, cheaper than dragon liver at 16 Sickles per ounce. Despite containing magic, it hadn't been found useful in potions, and wizards generally didn't eat brains.
The Lethifold, however, posed a problem. Although it looked like a cloak, any wizard with basic knowledge could identify it. Its notoriety meant it couldn't be exposed at Hogwarts.
For this reason, Ethan had specially made a platinum pendant with a hollow bottom. He cast the traceless extension charm on it, a lengthy process due to its small size. The space inside was only the size of a room, but it was enough for the Lethifold.
This tiny traceless extension charm item was impossible for people to enter due to the small entrance, but it was perfect for the Lethifold. With this necklace as a cover, Ethan could also carry the Lethifold.
Over the past month, Ethan had become increasingly familiar with the Lethifold. He could control it as a cloak at will, as long as the Lethifold cooperated. With a single action, the Lethifold automatically put a hood on Ethan, shrouding his entire face in a layer of black mist without affecting his vision, perfectly hiding all of Ethan's features.
Not only that, the Lethifold cloak had exceptionally strong magic resistance, especially to dark magic. It could automatically resist some spells aimed at Ethan. It was undoubtedly the best auxiliary prop. The Lethifold was almost untamable, otherwise the Lethifold cloak would be highly sought after in the wizarding world.
In terms of magic, Ethan hadn't been idle either, especially focusing on Occlumency. The improvement was obvious.

Walking into the station, Ethan followed the signs to Platform 9.
As he walked, he noticed more people dressed in peculiar outfits. Some wore cotton jackets paired with shorts, others were burly men in long skirts and high heels.
"It's like this every day, you get used to it. Not only do children often ask where Platform 9 3/4 is, but you also see these folks in strange clothes."
"Is something special happening today?"
"I don't know, does the first day of school count?"
Listening to the conversation between two station staff members, Ethan rushed over and bumped into a pillar nearby. The staff seemed not to notice and continued their discussion.
A feeling of squeezing enveloped him, and then his vision expanded.
"Ah!"
Looking towards the sound, Ethan saw a young girl lying on a pile of gifts.
Why is this girl blocking the entrance?
Ethan quickly helped her up, along with her luggage.
She looked familiar!
"Big front teeth, it's you!"
The iconic large front teeth and thick, messy brown hair—Hermione!
He had met her once before, so he recognized her.
Turns out, the person who asked the staff about Platform 9 3/4 was her!
Hermione, who also recognized Ethan, was about to greet him, but her face turned dark upon hearing "big front teeth."
This name reminded her of unpleasant memories.
"Thank you!"
After thanking him, Hermione held her luggage and walked forward, not wanting to say anything more.
"You still remember that!"
Ethan shook his head and sighed.
It had been about three years since the multi-school summer camp where both Hermione and Ethan attended. In the evening activity competition, Hermione excelled until Ethan participated. Whether it was memory or logic, Ethan outperformed her in every area she was good at.
At the end, Ethan had said, "Don't be sad, at least your front teeth are bigger than mine!"
The little girl couldn't hold back and cried in front of everyone.
But she remembered!
Ethan, seemingly indifferent, didn't worry about it and boarded the red steam train with his suitcase.
Because he arrived late, many of the carriages he passed were full. This wasn't Ethan's fault, as wizards used magic to arrive directly, whereas Ethan had to travel several kilometers by car that morning.
After walking all the way to the rear, he found a relatively empty compartment with only a young witch inside.
"Excuse me, can I sit here?"
The young witch, who was reading a book, looked up briefly and then lowered her head again.
If you don't say anything, I'll take it as a yes.
Opening the compartment door, Ethan entered, placed his suitcase on the shelf, and sat opposite her. Only then did he realize that she was the one who had sat opposite him at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor the last time.
