Chapter 42: A Kiss and a Promise

…wait, have I ever said Brittany looked stunning in a dress? She looked edible in an apron. I didn't know I was a fan of aprons until that moment. 

Her hair was packed up with a few stubborn tendrils flowing to her back and her face. She was barefooted and wearing a loose gown. The girl could wear a sack and easily be the most beautiful woman in the room.

She looked homey and for a moment–longer than that–I imagined her in my space looking like that. Instead of standing in her living room looking like a lost lamb with my mouth hanging open, I would be by her side to welcome a visitor and we would go back to the kitchen to finish cooking. We would exchange kisses with a promise to explore each other at the speed of a snail when our visitors were gone.
