His attitude was better on the last two calls that we had but it suddenly changed because of Margaret. That was what I wanted, right? 

The realization that we could be cold towards each other did not sit well with me even though that was what I preferred. He drank his bottled water at a go but watched and waited as I sipped mine. I ordered a ride to a meeting and so when he offered me a ride, I did not refuse. 

Maybe I shouldn't have looked back during the ride but if I didn't, I would have missed the black tinted car that was right behind us. "That car is following us," I said loudly to his driver. Something about the way I said it made Lucas pause what he was doing on his laptop.
