Sharlo stood at the bow of his ship, staring at the colossal Sea Kings, each over a hundred meters long.
"How did we attract so many Sea Kings?" Sharlo muttered in disbelief.
"Boss! The Sea Kings are attacking!" a terrified crew member shouted from the stern.
Frowning, Sharlo dashed to the stern, seeing a massive tail about to strike the ship. He leaped forward and delivered a powerful punch, creating a gaping hole in the Sea King's tail.
"Mooo~!" The Sea King, with a head ten meters wide, let out a pained cry, triggering a chain reaction. Seven or eight Sea Kings around Sharlo's ship began their assault.
Through his Observation Haki, Sharlo sensed their rage. "Damn it! Why aren't these Sea Kings staying underwater where they belong?" He knew the few corpses they had shouldn't have attracted so many massive Sea Kings.
As the Sea Kings attacked simultaneously, Sharlo's expression changed. "Everyone, hold on tight!" he yelled before diving into the sea, using his Moonwalk technique to rush at the Sea Kings.
Landing on a seventy-meter-long Sea King's head, Sharlo drew his sword and delivered a ten-meter-long flying slash, cutting a deep wound from head to tail, spilling blood into the sea. The wounded Sea King thrashed violently, creating massive waves.
Noting the struggle and sensing the danger to his crew, Sharlo unleashed another powerful slash, putting the Sea King out of its misery. Using the Sea King's body as a platform, he sprinted across, rescuing a crew member who had fallen into the sea.
"Hold on to the railings and don't let go! I'll handle the Sea Kings!" he commanded, prompting everyone to grab onto the railings tightly.
With Sharlo busy rescuing his crew, the Sea Kings had closed in on the ship. "This ship is mine!" Sharlo growled, leaping to intercept the nearest Sea King. He drove his sword into its head, unleashing a torrent of destructive energy that quickly killed it.
Without hesitation, Sharlo moved to the next Sea King. His swift kills made the remaining Sea Kings realize the true threat. They abandoned their attack on the ship and focused on Sharlo.
Standing atop the dead Sea King, Sharlo brandished his sword, ready for the next wave. The Sea Kings surrounded him, but the standoff didn't last long. A gigantic squid, likely the leader, lashed out with its tentacles. Sharlo dodged, unwilling to take a direct hit.
With the squid in action, the other Sea Kings joined in, giving Sharlo opportunities to turn their attacks against them. Using his agility, Sharlo leaped from head to head, dodging and striking, killing two more Sea Kings in short order.
"Roar!" The Sea Kings howled in fury, but some also showed signs of fear. The smaller ones began retreating into the sea, disappearing from Sharlo's Observation Haki.
Three Sea Kings remained, including the giant squid. The previously turbulent sea became eerily calm as they surrounded Sharlo. Meanwhile, Sharlo's ships had been pushed far from the battle, and his crew watched anxiously through telescopes.
Swallowing hard, Sharlo felt a pang of unease. Suddenly, a vision flashed in his mind. He immediately used Moonwalk to escape. The squid spewed a massive amount of corrosive ink at his previous position, turning the sea black within a hundred-meter radius.
Hovering above, Sharlo shuddered. It wasn't just the ink's corrosiveness that startled him but its sheer destructiveness. The dead Sea King's body shriveled, corroded by the ink.
"What kind of Sea King is this? This wasn't in the anime!" Sharlo muttered, astonished. "Good thing my Observation Haki warned me, or I'd be dead by now."
Feeling a surge of anger, Sharlo focused on the giant squid. He raised his hands and unleashed a ten-meter-long slash. The squid tried to shield itself with its tentacles, but the attack severed one cleanly.
"Arrgh~!" The squid shrieked, spraying more ink and causing the remaining Sea Kings to flee in confusion. Seizing the moment, Sharlo launched himself at the squid, delivering a powerful vertical slash that split it in two.
With the leader dead, the remaining Sea Kings fled. Sharlo, exhausted but victorious, returned to his ship. "Let's get out of here before more show up," he ordered. The crew, in awe of his prowess, quickly complied, steering the ship away from the battlefield.
As they sailed to safety, Sharlo couldn't help but wonder what other dangers the sea held. For now, though, they had survived.
