60% They Said It Was Just a Game... But My Waifu Came to Life?! / Chapter 3: The Gamer and His Ice Queen

Chapter 3: The Gamer and His Ice Queen

John Spencer POV

It seems I fell asleep while playing the game. The game was so fun and addictive that I unknowingly lost track of time and became unconscious.

Luckily, the game had a feature like The Sims, which can speed up the plot and the gameplay. The game was pretty much realistic; one second in the game was worth one second in reality. In summary, their time was the same as the real world. If not for the speed-up function, I don't know what would have happened in the real world as my eyes would be glued to the screen for the rest of my life.

I have no interest in watching Kaguya's daily life for 24 hours, so I skipped it and let Kaguya run on autopilot. When an important decision moment arrived, I would remind her and communicate with her across the screen. I would suggest the best decision for her to choose. Whether she adopted my decision or not was her damn choice.

When the character in the game is hungry or has any needs in daily life, it will show on the screen. The green bar indicates they are satisfied, while the red bar shows they need something badly. Not only hunger but also hygiene, bladder, joy, sadness, and many other needs and emotions are shown.

Fortunately, the character I played was very disciplined and could fix themselves without needing me to pilot them.

Unlike in The Sims, if I wasn't looking, the character would have a bad lifestyle and lack discipline.

Moreover, I was glad that I didn't need to move my fingers. Kaguya would pretty much take most of my advice and execute it very fast and efficiently. I commanded her with my voice, letting her move herself while I watched how the game unfolded.

"You seem to like those beautiful writers and idols so much, John. If you really like them, why don't you go to them?" Out of the blue, Kaguya suddenly said.

"What are you even thinking?" I rolled my eyes at the accusation, then added, "I wanted you to invest in them, not for anything else. Don't you already see the results of their work?"

"But why are most of them girls?" Kaguya was not convinced by the answer.

How could I know? Most anime writers write male protagonists as a waste of space, while the girls are either talented or geniuses. If you want to blame someone, blame the ones who write the animes, not me.

As much as this is just a game and pixels, I know such an answer was pretty much bullshit, so I could only do what I do best.

It's you, bullshit no jutsu!

"Well, it's just most of them, isn't it? There are males too that I recommended you to sponsor, like Hikigaya Hachiman, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, Izumi Masamune, and Kirigaya Kirito." Honestly, I don't remember too many male protagonists who are really talented. Well, at least they are really useful.

They were invited into Suuchin Academy and would be privately sponsored by Kaguya. Her personal pocket was more than enough to give them space in the school. Not only them, but Utaha, Hoshino Ai, Eriri Spencer, Asuna Yuuki, Yamada Fairy, Izumi Sagiri, and many other talented girls were personally invited by her.

Even Utaha, who was supposed to be cut off because her book didn't sell well in volume 2, was boosted by Kaguya. It can be said we recruited many talents in one go and invested in them.

Kaguya was no longer someone who didn't have anyone by her side. I pointed out to her to make friends with many wealthy and influential young ladies that I saw from anime and make connections with them so her brother would think twice before attacking her.

From the writing industry, gaming industry, internet, politics, influence, entertainment industry, I laid the solid foundation for Kaguya by promoting figures that I already mentioned above in education, investment, and friendship.

"Speaking of Ayanokouji, I almost forgot his existence if you didn't remind me. He was the son of the Prime Minister and the masterpiece of the White Room. I think you're playing with fire, John, for wanting to use him." Kaguya reminded me.

"He will not, if you have the confidence to promise him a peaceful life and protect him from his wretched father." I asserted.

"Hmph, if he dares." Kaguya snorted when she was being challenged and was unhappy with John's yin-yang tone.

"Good, I like the confident girl." I praised.

"Anyway, how is your friendship with Hatsune Miku so far? She is the Emperor's daughter, after all. I hope your friendship with her goes well."

"You will have no true friend in life if you always see friends in the perspective of their usefulness rather than the happiness you gain from it, John." Kaguya rolled her eyes at the question.

"For your question, our friendship goes well. Don't worry about it. I always apply all of your suggestions and happy with them. Because of it, too, the surveillance at home has greatly reduced. Most of the spies were already taken care of. I'm no longer a puppet of my brothers." She hummed happily.

"You're indeed very talented. You're not only good at investment but also politics, management, and your vision of spotting talent is indeed enviable. You're pretty much good at everything, even better than me. Is this the perk of God?"

"I have already said that I was the gamer." I reminded.

"The Gamer, well, perhaps you are the God of the Game." Kaguya didn't rebuke my title; instead, she adjusted it.

"As long as you're happy anyway." I didn't bother to correct her misunderstanding of seeing me as a divine figure rather than a player who plays her character as a game.

Kaguya just chuckled at that.

...

Kaguya Shinomiya POV

Since that day I communicated with him, John indeed fulfilled his promise. He never controlled me again. Instead, he only gave me suggestions, and I found his suggestions very useful and was willing to apply most of them. Very few were not applied by me yet.

I didn't know why John wanted me to investigate Hayasaka Ai's past, but I trusted her and didn't want to destroy this trust by doubting my own maid. I explained all of this to John to prevent him from misunderstanding me.

Fortunately, he was a very understanding man and didn't comment on that and was still willing to give many suggestions to me despite me refusing him once.

He was indeed a gentleman, even though his morals were very questionable.

But I was on the same board with him anyway. He was the one who was on my side most of the time, after all. He helped me without asking anything from me in return, which made me trust him more and become fond of him. I didn't mention no peeking again at him or preventing him from leaving.

I was scared of what would happen if he left.

Will I return to being a puppet and helpless as previously? Will my brothers force me to marry some random man because of how weak I was previously compared to them?

Thanks to John, this problem is no longer a problem. Now, I can stand on my own feet and form my own company and foundation with his suggestion. Now, I have many connections with many aristocratic families that are trustworthy in terms of character who wouldn't stab me in the back.

I'm no longer alone, but I have many talented individuals by my side that would be my future foundation, and many companies I invested in prospered under the guidance of John.

"If the future allows, can I meet you, John?" I asked in a hopeful tone.

"If the future allows." He answered.

My face darkened at the ambiguous answer. I wanted him to answer yes, not this answer.

However, I quickly hid my stiffness and smirked cheerfully.

"I will take it as yes then."

He didn't answer. As usual, he would disappear when I wanted an answer from him.

I was scared...

I didn't know what to do if he disappeared from my life.

I know I need to do something about it...

But I don't know where to start.

Everything about him was unknown to me.

However, I heard something from him...

Perhaps it would be the key for me to meet him.

The ending...

Yes, the ending.

I just need to reach the ending.

The question is...

Which ending do I need to reach to meet him?
