Then he sat down next to me and started taking off his shoes too. I looked at him, puzzled.
"I just want to do the same thing," he said while removing his shoes.
"Copycat," I teased him.
He just smiled teasingly. I stood up and left him there, running toward the sea and stepping my feet into the water.
"Woooh, it's cold!" I shouted, hugging myself. A little later, Alzid joined me.
"It's cold! Try stepping your feet in; it's really cold," I told him. So he stepped into the water too.
"Yeah, it's cold, but it's fun, right?" he said.
I was just looking at my feet, smiling because I was happy with this simple thing. Sometimes, I feel like I find joy in the simplest things.
"If I had known this would make you so happy, I would've brought you here every day," he said.
