After the job was over he went to various retailers and manufacturers and bought a few items, a one ton block of steel, some industrial strength cables and pulleys, a few pieces of metal and a custom made nail with a sharp end that was 7 metres long and 200 kilograms in weight and some Beast tracking powder.
As for why he needed these things is that it was the cheapest but unreliable way he could find to kill monsters and make money.
The thing is that the sewers in Bo had always been infected with one eyed Ape Rats who were generally weak among monsters and cowardly, they would only attack children.
He decided to buy these things after drawing inspiration from the way Mo Fan killed the Spirit Wolf of Bai Yang, not least because his Light Element was, well let's say useless in attack right now.
But there was two dangers in this plan, one although his plan ensured that he could kill monsters while staying at a distance, one eyed Ape Rats had a light based attack that could reach upto ten metres and there were no sewers in Bo that were higher than meters.
Secondly Black Vatican was using the Ape Rats to dig tunnels into the city so that their invasion/ test plan for Bo City would be faster, these Ape Rats were most likely agitated using either the Evil Spring or the Psychic element and they would only increase in numbers the next year and a half, making it possible for him to be in their sights during this process.
But the despair of Bankruptcy and allure of magic spurred him on as he first went to a construction site and bribe a couple of workers and borrowed some equipment.
Then he drove the lifter to an abandoned road and set up simple pulley system in the middle of the sewer nearby and attached one end of the cable to weight outside the sewer, and at the other end he fitted the nail with a simple release system.
He made the iron block he used as counterweight in the appear as something that would be used to block a road. Hidden in plain sight, that was his idea. After than he set up a place he could 'hang' on the sewer ceiling near the pulley and a simple ladder that went up to the 'hangout' area.
