Chapter 93: Savanah's Decision

"Is the Twilight House for real?" Savanah asked squaring up to Ana.

"On my honor as a stray." Ana replied.

"It looks like food is getting scarce out here. When was last time you ate?" she continued.

Savanah sighed heavily, "The kittens have gone a couple days. Matt and I have been longer. We can't get food out here anymore since more kids started showing up. They started ratcheting out funds to the shelter and the orphanage only if they comply with sending kids to juvenile hall."

"It's my fault." Matt said, hanging his head. "My father is so determined to bring me in that he's putting a hurt on all of us. I keep telling Savi I should just go back. Take my licks but…"

"Matt no…" Savanah said with true fear in her eyes then she turned to Ana. "I barely kept him alive when Mack brought him to me. I thought he was gonna die, for real."
