Chapter 3: The game , and the pests
[A/N : those who are interested in chess , this was for you , not very high level i would assume , but decent enough , and as i promised mongrel slaying was present but not enough i know , there is more to come trust me , i'd appreciate any thoughts about the interaction of the progression of the story , like i said before i'm in trail in error phase here , any kind of advice is accepted , only please try to form it politely , and thank you for reading ]
both Tsubaki and Yuuto turn to Sona with shocked looks
to which she keeps displaying her devil like smile
Yuuto cuts the silence by saying
"you're serious ?"
and Sona simply replies
"absolutely"
" Sona i know i said i like you , and based on how i described and explained the factions's defects , given you're smart enough , i believe you've realized where i stand , but you do not need to feel compelled to approach me this way, out of benefit , i will not be against you unless you force me to" Yuuto says unusually serious and Sona replies Confidently
" your words back at you Yuuto, do not understimate me , i do have an idea where you stand , but i already told everyone concerned about this subject , the one who will have my hand shall only be who bests me in chess , besides why are you speaking like you already won , like you said , it's my most loved game "
" Sona , that condition was accepted by your family concerning devils , what are they gonna say , when they only see a human " Yuuto doesn't give up the argument though
" they can say whatever they want to say , although i am not a rebelious girl , and take my responsabilities seriously , i earned the right to choose my own partner , and not even my parents have a say in it " she replies confidently amplfying Yuuto's headache
now don't get him wrong , he likes Sona very much , and who wouldn't, she responsible, smart , capable , and accepting , but the amount of headache he will be receiving will overload his brain , not to mention , the downright awful treatment he will receive from the devils and the looks of superiority makes him wonder if it's even worth it , this makes him sounds irresponsible as he was the one who confessed first , but his thought process was that Sona will take some time to think about his confession , enough time for him to show some low lives their place , thus giving him a higher social status enough to not be looked down upon .
Sona continues staring at him while he's contemplating and she says smirking a bit
"what ? having second thoughts now?"
hearing her , he breaks out of his train of thought to respond
" no , let's do it , just don't cry later , althought that would be cute too" he says while thinking in his head ' whatever , all i have to do , is show them that they should not mess with my life , i can always drop EA on their whole dimension if they piss me off too much ' he says chuckling at his genocidal thoughts at the end
but Sona is gritting her teeth at his remark but she calms down and says
"let's see who cries at the end , Tsubaki if you don't mind some tea would be nice "
" right away , pres-" is what would she liked to say before Yuuto cut her off
" no need " he said , as a golden gate opens behind him , and he takes out a tea pot and three cups while thinking ' just yesterday i didn't want to ruin my tastebuds , and now i'm doing this to impress her , haah what has become of me , whatever , it was bound to happen anyway'
not noticing the complete shock on both the girls faces and Tsubaki can't help but ask" just what do you keep in there"
and he smirks saying" anything you can ever imagine "
to which both girls scoff at
"fine , keep your secrets" Tsubaki says
" anyway sit down , this tea is not something that should be drank while cold " he said giving the tea pot to Tsubaki
"Tsubaki , if you please" "of course prez " she says pooring down the tea .
Yuuto picks up his cup , taking a sip , he smiles while saying " as expected "
' well guess goodbye normal meals' he thinks
ignoring both the girl's the shock over the taste
"tsubaki , this"
" yes i have never tasted anything like it"
and then both of them ask at the same time
""where did you get this tea""
and Yuuto smirks much to their annoyance and says " if you beat me , you will get it , and if you lose , well you'll get it anyway honestly , it's not really much to me , but enough of this lets start the game " he takes out an ancient looking chess board with expensive looking chess pieces from GOB
and Sona is impressed
" looks like you're also a lover of chess " and Yuuto is barely keeping himself from laughing
"anyway let's start , black or white " he says
"black , i'm not making it easy for you"
" suits your character " he says
" what do you mean?" she asks with curiosity
" i'll tell you as we play" he says as he finishes setting up the board and the pieces
E2 to E4 he plays
" i meant that white is mostly for player who are aggressive in nature always wanting be the first and the better , and black is for those who are conserative , and passive , bidding their time and only striking when their are sure of their strategy and win"
" i see ,that's true, that somehow suits my character " she responds
C8 to C6 she plays
" this game is your way of getting to know me right? better start , this won't last long"
he says while playing B1 to C3
" now i realized why you said you're not one to judge arrogance , but you're right , so my first question , what is you goal ?" she replies and plays D7 to D5
" my goal huh? i guess it would be figuring out my purpose , what am i doing in this life , why was born , and for what purpose , this may sound weird coming from me , but this is something that has been bothering for the entirety of this life ' well the two weeks of it i guess' he thinks while moving G1 to F3
" indeed it is weird for someone with your character to not know his purpose but i'm not one to judge , moving on, why are you reluctant to form allies , you can't do everything alone , i understand that even while trying to form a connection with me , it will only be with me and not the devils , and you will only help if you were asked by me " 'or any other girl you like 'she added in her mind knowing well he doesn't look like the type to be pleased by one girl , not that she expects any less , her move was D5 to E4 taking the first pawn
" that is simple enough , allies are for those who need them , my serious princess , trust me when i say there has been only one thing i haven't been able to obtain so far " he says while moving C3 to E4 taking the pawn
" and what is that thing?" she asks G8 to F6
" Family " he says E4 to G3
" Family huh? i think i understand you better now? moving on what are your plans moving forward?" she asks C8 to G4
" my plans? currently i have no plans , i'm just moving with the flow , although i have the idea of getting rid of some pests , i was thinking of discussing this with you and the crimson princess "F1 to C4
" me and rias? what is it related to? " she asks curious while moving E7 to E6
" the fallen angels in the church " he says calmly moving H2 to H3
" so you know about them , do you have a way of surveillance better than familiars or what" she says sighing G4 to F3 taking the knight
" i do have a better way , but only i am capable of using it " D1 to F3 taking the rook
" i see " Sona starts focusing more on the game F8 to D6
F3 to E2 by Yuuto
B8 to D7 by sona
G3 to F5
D6 to F8 was the mistake by Sona
C4 to E6
F7 to E6
E2 to E6
F8 to E7
F5 to D6
E8 to F8
finally E6 to F7 ending the match with a checkmate shocking tsubaki who was watching
and Sona sighs saying" i expected that i would lose , but i hoped to pose a decent fight "
and Yuuto laughs slightly " you did , most can't even reach half what you did" he says putting a slight smile on her face , both ignoring tsubaki in the back who started grumbling
and Yuuto says" well then my fiance , it would seem i won , which would probably means that you have to go back to your family to report about this "
and she responds " indeed i would have to , i can already imagine the headache this is going to bring " Sona says holding her head , and Yuuto mirrors her expression , saying " tell me about it " and then they look at each other and they both share a laugh
but Yuuto ends it by saying " well then , as a reward for you for posing a challenge how about a show , it would also adds to your understanding about how powerful i am "
" a show ? what do you have in mind ?" she asks
" well , at first i wanted to discuss the issue of the fallen angle with you and the gremory princess , to resolve it as it is your responsability , but now , it's a different story , like i said think of it as a reward , you can also use this as a card to explain things to you parents and the opposition "
" quite a good idea , but are you sure you can handle them all by yourself "
"haha , i guess we're about to find out , he says as he grabs both tsubaki and Sona's hands to teleport
" wai-" "hold o-" ignoring their protests he uses his teleportation to appear in front of the church
[ A/N : yes gilgamesh can teleport , and his range is several miles wide]
reaching the front he let go of their hands only to be scolded
" hey , this is kiddnapping , i did not agree to be teleported , we're gonna miss classes "
tsubaki says followed by Sona nodding
" relax , not going to take even 10 minutes not mention , are you seriously prioritizing school over erasing these pest?"
and both girls fall silent , only for Yuuto to smirk and amplify his voice to only be heard by those he want and he says" hey you overcooked chickens get out , we need to have a chat "
he says leaving tsubaki and Sona with mouths agape over the comments
a few seconds pass by , and then a group of fallen angels show up , with murderous looks , searching for who called them by that shameful name . only to spot the trio of tsubaki , sona and yuuto and few of them starting mumbling
"2 devils and a human "
" oh that one is the princess of Sitri looks like we've been caught "
" but the one who called us was a male voice , don't tell me the puny human was the one who insulted us?" says the last one with utter mockery making Yuuto's face twitch
" no way , it's probably one of the devils using voice mimickry magic , a human wouldn't look for death by insulting us " adds another one and Yuuto started to get angry , only for the last straw to be
" i know right , he probably doesn't even know what we are , if he did he would've pissed his pants by now haha"
and now Yuuto was pissed , truly pissed , as apparent by the shout he delivered
"MONGRELS" he shouts and along with it a sight truly not for the weak hearted appears , as approximately . about a hundred golden gate appear with each one, a mighty looking weapon was emerging , this sight was excessive as only about 25 to 30 fallen angels were present , but Yuuto didn't care as the moment the weapons came out they headed straight for the fallens who by now had pale faces filled with fear
but these weapons knew no fear nor obstacles , even with these fallens sending light spears at them , it didn't even slow them down , as the weapons slaughtered everything in their way , sending a shockwave throughout the scene , which was fortunately covered by Yuuto's illusion and sound barrier , and as the dust clears down only to leave a few corpses as most of them disintegreted , and the rubble behind , which was easy enough to fix using magic
as his anger started to subside , he takes a deep breath and turn around while saying " so , what do you think of your fiance's strenght?" he smirks only to see Tsubaki and Sona's mouths wide open , that some flies might get in and he starts laughing his ass off , but the girl can't even notice as they are too shocked by what they just witnessed
as Sona thinks ' Strong , too strong , he made it seem like he used alot of his power , but that wasn't even a drop in the ocean , people like him would never use more power to kill ants than they need ,even if they were angry , did i just make the best decision in my life , if my parents don't agree after knowing this , then i might as well stay single for the rest of my life ' she finishes her thoughts with a resolve to convince her parents no matter what happens

yes . Yuuto is broken but you can't exactly expect any less as how can he beat in Sona in chess , find out next chapter ,
again do let me if any unwanted events are happening , also you do not need to worry those weren't the group of fallen who try to steal issei's and asia's sacred gear as they are essential to the story and issei's reincarnation , they will be kept on it , they will just be more cautious with the death of their comrades , and their HQ will change of course
