As Fang Xuan made his way toward the stairs, he focused on the creaking wood beneath his feet.

This place was so unmaintained that he wouldn't be shocked if it collapsed out of nowhere.

Just before he could reach the top, Fang Xuan spotted a tall woman coming down the stairs. 

Her dark hair fell in waves over her shoulders, highlighting her attractive features.

She wore light green robes that swayed gently as she walked, and the sword at her hip glinted softly in the dim light.

His heart skipped a beat, not because he had fallen for her at first sight, but because he immediately recognized her for what she was—a cultivator. 

He quickly looked away, pretending to mind his own business as he walked past her.

The woman didn't say a word either, but as she drew closer, she cast a sidelong glance in his direction, her eyes carefully studying him.
