Chapter 78: Vengeance for Every Grievance
In Valhalla's Second Layer, the Middle Court, a piercing cold wind howled, gradually intensifying to a 25-knot Force 6 wind, with white foam cresting the waves into snow-like swirling white strips. The sea here mirrored the conditions of the North Sea outside, which had entered winter in November.
Numerous historical pirate ships, tattered and long overdue for sinking, roamed like sharks. There were galleys, schooners, carracks, galleons, and so on—every type of ship that had ever existed in history was present. Clearly, they were all "ship coffins"!
Each ship buried an entire pirate team of dozens or hundreds of individuals. Piracy has always been a high-risk profession. Defeat at sea typically meant facing the tragic outcome of the entire crew being killed, prompting them to often fight to the death.
