Chapter 4: Found

The zombies, not finding any living humans, slowly dispersed.

Once they scattered, Sylas pushed aside the zombies in front of him and walked out through the gaps between them.

There were far too many zombies in the lobby on the first floor.

Fortunately, Sylas had the Zombie Aura and didn't fear their attacks.

For a living person taking the elevator down, it would have been a death sentence.

However, Sylas didn't dare attack these zombies.

Any attack would provoke them to retaliate, putting him in danger.

Sylas pushed the zombies in front of him aside. Luckily, his increased strength made this possible.

After laboriously making his way out of the lobby, Sylas took a deep breath.

The lobby was filled with zombies, and the smell was unbearable.

The air was likely saturated with the zombie virus.

However, survivors who had made it this far were already immune to the airborne virus.

As long as they weren't attacked by zombies, they wouldn't be infected.

Once outside the lobby, Sylas walked slowly, imitating the zombies' movements around him.

Zombies also wandered aimlessly, so Sylas's movements didn't appear unusual.

He just had to avoid moving too quickly.

Sylas mimicked the zombies' actions, shuffling slowly step by step towards the property management office.

The process was indeed quite taxing.

Fortunately, Sylas was full and had the patience to complete this task.

It took him a full half hour to reach the property management office.

The door to the office was closed but not locked.

Sylas carefully opened the door. As soon as it opened, a zombie in a security uniform lunged at him.

However, when the zombie got close to Sylas, it hesitated, looked at him, and then returned to its position.

The Zombie Aura on Sylas made the attacking security zombie think he was also a zombie.

Thus, it didn't attack Sylas.

Sylas ignored the zombie and walked directly into the property management office to find Clarissa's address.

The office had records of all the residents, and Sylas quickly found the information he needed.

"Clarissa really does live here," Sylas said with a smile as he discovered her address.

"Clarissa's address is Villa 03."

However, he wasn't sure if Clarissa was actually staying there.

Being a busy celebrity, it was uncertain if she had been home when the apocalypse began.

Regardless, Sylas decided to check out Clarissa's house.

Even if Clarissa wasn't there, Sylas could move into the villa.

After confirming Clarissa's address, Sylas once again pretended to be a zombie and headed towards Clarissa's villa.

Fortunately, it wasn't far, and Sylas was getting used to this behavior, allowing him to move faster.

In less than twenty minutes, Sylas arrived at the villa area.

He noticed signs of activity in some of the villas, indicating that there were still survivors.

This made Sylas even more cautious.

He couldn't predict how these survivors might react if they discovered him.

Given his current lack of combat strength, it was better to stay low-key.

Sylas reached Clarissa's villa.

Standing before the villa, he found the door locked.

Knock, knock, knock!

Sylas knocked on the door.

"Is anyone home?" he asked.

Inside, Clarissa was weak with hunger.

She had run out of food in the villa.

She had contacted her family and friends, but everyone was in trouble, and no one could come to her rescue.

Helpless, Clarissa could only wait for rescue at home.

She had been waiting for a month.

All the food in the house had been eaten.

Clarissa didn't want to die, but the villa was surrounded by zombies, and she didn't dare to go outside.

Finally, one day, she heard a knock on the door.

Hearing the knock, Clarissa became very excited. After all, zombies wouldn't knock; only a living person would knock.

The person looking for her should be a friend.

"Who are you?" Clarissa asked weakly from behind the door.

Sylas, hearing Clarissa's voice, felt a surge of excitement.

Luckily, Clarissa was really at home and alive.

"I'm Sylas, a resident of the community. We've met in the neighborhood before. I saw you were still here. Are you okay?" Sylas asked softly.

Speaking too loudly might attract zombies.

"Are there no zombies outside?" Clarissa asked excitedly.

She thought that if Sylas had found her, perhaps there were no more zombies outside.

"There are still zombies outside. I avoided them to get here."

"Why don't you open the door? I have food. Do you need some?" Sylas said.

With a click, the door opened. A weary-looking Clarissa looked expectantly at Sylas.

Clarissa was nearly starving and couldn't care about anything else. Hearing that Sylas had brought food, she immediately opened the door.

Clarissa knew that the outside world was dangerous and that people could be wicked.

But she was on the verge of starvation.

A person about to starve couldn't afford to worry about such things.

Right now, all she wanted was food.
