The morning broke reluctantly, its pale light struggling to pierce the haze that clung to the forest. Kael was already awake when Morgana stirred, his gaze fixed on the horizon as if willing it to reveal answers. The campfire had died to embers, and the cold had seeped into their bones during the night.

Morgana sat up, brushing stray leaves from her cloak. "You didn't sleep, did you?"

Kael shook his head, his expression unreadable. "The Heart wouldn't let me. I felt... echoes, fragments of something stirring. Like faint whispers just beyond reach."

"From another fragment?" Morgana asked, already securing her sword belt.

"Possibly," Kael replied. "Or something connected to it. The closer we get to the Sentinels, the stronger it becomes. It's like the Heart knows we're heading toward something important."
