'They could have killed her, how could I have let her alone with them.' He closed his eyes to endure the heart-wrenching pain he felt.

He cradled her with more force and buried his head in her hair, beside her face.

"You said it would take a few hours?" Jace tried to concentrate on a solution, seeing Paige and Lance like this, his hands trembled.
