Chapter 133: 133. Happier

Meier and Natasha's happy face fell, suddenly looking like siblings.

"No...today we are on a date. Show me your room." Natasha's finger slid down Lance's arm to take his hand.

He flinched away and stubbornly said,

"I want to see the cats." he walked to Meier and Paige who were putting on their shoes beside the house door.

Meier got a look from Lance and was forced to cooperate,

"I would love to invite you both." He said, more woodenly than Paige had ever acted out the script.

"No...that's-" Natasha squirmed.

"Let's go together." Jace sighed, trying to diffuse the situation. He had to talk to Lance again about finding the last life force. Apparently, Lance couldn't be trusted to convincingly play his role. They had to hurry. If Juno cancelled the play because of his insufficient participation, they could all be in danger.
