"What happened! Kushina ,Anbu Call tsunade Here Fast!" Minato said with a Seriousness on his face to which Anbu noded and left
After Some time
Tsunade, who had just entered the office, also noticed Kushina's condition. "Kushina, are you all right?" she asked, starting to heal her arms.
Kushina gritted her teeth. "Yes, Tsunade," she replied, though her face showed clear discomfort.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "Your bones are almost cracked, Kushina. What happened? Did you fight someone?"
Kushina glared at her but did not respond. Yamato coughed a little. "Well, Lord Hokage, as I was about to say," he began, "when we started the test, Kushina-san insisted that she be the one to test the young genins. She wanted to see the caliber of Naruto's power, as your son. So, she started to fight him. She began by using her chakra chains, but Naruto-san also used his chakra chains and overpowered her."
Everyone looked at Kushina, who had a scowl on her face but nodded nonetheless. "After that, she used her sword to fight him, but he was able to defend himself. I don't know what that jutsu was—maybe some kind of Earth manipulation to power up his hand—but he blocked her attacks with a single finger, surrounded by purple chakra."
Minato narrowed his gaze at that, knowing the strength behind Kushina's strikes. He looked at Kushina, who was growing angrier by the second. Her hair almost seemed to flicker into nine ponytails. Yamato, oblivious to Kushina's changing mood, continued his report. "After that, Kushina-san decided to fight him in close combat, but he pushed her back like it was nothing. A few punches later, her arms were in that condition," he said, pointing to Kushina.
Kushina's scowl deepened. "It is understandable, Lord Hokage. As you know, Kushina-san has just come out of retirement, so maybe she's at the level of a special jonin or a jonin for now," Yamato added.
That was enough for Kushina. She grabbed Yamato by the collar. "Who are you calling just a jonin, you damn ANBU? I was offered the Fourth Hokage position! How dare you say something like this to me?" she yelled, squeezing his neck.
Jiraiya intervened. "Kushina-san, calm down," he said. Kushina glared at him as Minato shouted, "That is enough!"
Kushina did not like it but nonetheless threw Yamato back. Yamato stood at attention, realizing that his comment was ill-timed. Kushina stormed out of the room, humiliated. There were already enough rumors about her not being at the level of a Kage anymore, and now for that damn ANBU to suggest she was only at the level of a special jonin was too much.
Minato sighed and looked at Yamato. "Yamato-san, you should be careful what you say around her. She has a short temper."
Yamato nodded. "I must say, the kid is impressive, Lord Hokage. I would say he's at the level of a low jonin easily. If the fight had continued, I believe Kushina-san would have lost."
Minato raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure about that?"
Yamato nodded. "Her arm became so numb that she was unable to move it. Even coming here, she was unable to perform a shunshin. I don't think she would have been able to use her chakra chains effectively against him."
Jiraiya, listening to all this, was growing angrier by the second. The kid was humiliating his family, and it only reinforced his belief that Menma and Naruko needed to get back the titles they rightfully deserved. Naruto was just a failure and nothing more. He controlled his anger, though.
Minato sighed. "What about his loyalties, Yamato?"
Yamato shook his head. "I don't know, Lord Hokage. I need to examine him more closely. He doesn't seem to like his teammates, especially that Sakura girl. Her attitude is pretty bad."
Minato sighed. He had to place Sakura somewhere. With her mother on the civilian council, he couldn't put her in the reserves without causing an uproar. "We'll dismiss her," he decided.
Jiraiya spoke up. "Well, Minato, as you can see, the kid is already causing trouble. You should give Menma and Naruko the missions as soon as possible so they can gain experience. When the time comes, they'll be strong enough to defeat Naruto. I'm already teaching them some skills so that when the time comes, you can teach them the Rasengan as well."
Minato looked at Jiraiya for a moment, then nodded. "All right, Jiraiya. I'll try my best. Just complete some D-rank missions so that when the council brings it up, we can say they've been active. I'm already having trouble keeping Menma and Naruko by claiming they still have a blood relation to him."
Jiraiya nodded. "Understood, Minato. We'll make sure they're ready."
Minato sighed, feeling the weight of his responsibilities as Hokage and as a father. The future was uncertain, but he had to protect the village and his family.
