Chapter 48: Same Prompt?

Heizen left the apothecary shop and went to the deserted alley.

"That was quick."

He just went in, picked up garbage for two mana crystals, and ran away like a thief. He even saw the shopkeeper's weird look, but didn't care.

After taking out all the potions, he began to sort them out. Since his System could identify more accurately than Monocle, or any other detection spell, it was easier to do such work.

Finally, he found a dark purple liquid inside a small bottle after discarding all the other useless and damaged potions.

[Potion Name: Elixir of Night Vision]

[Type: Rare]

[Condition: Barely Usable (Only half-effective)]

[Effect: Grants the ability to see in the darkness. Works even in the specific dungeon.]

[Duration: 3 hours]

[Side Effect: May cause mild eye irritation after the effect wears off.]

"So, basically a failed product." Heizen mused. But he still carefully kept it as who knows when it would be useful.

If his assumption was true, everything he obtained through the system's prompt would play some role for him in the future. It could be a small role or a significant one determining his life and death.

For example, the Gale orb he had given to Sarah saved his life in the vision indirectly. Moreover, the vision itself was from the Eye of Ancients which he got from the System prompt. So, he was extra careful when it came to this.

"Now, let's go to the Relic Shop." After he threw away the garbage, he walked towards the relic shop on the black market. Finding it wasn't hard as it was the only shop selling old stuff and maps.

The relic shop looked like any other shop in this market except it was filled with old artifacts of unknown origins. There were also many scrolls, maps, crystals, and the like scattered around.

The shopkeeper was a middle-aged man who was leisurely reading a book. Since no one was buying in the entire shop, it wasn't his fault that he was lazy.

"Shopkeeper, do you have any unique map?" Heizen tapped the counter and asked.

The shopkeeper looked at him and pointed at a corner with his chin. After that, he continued to read the book. Unlike other people, this shopkeeper wasn't wearing any disguise.

Heizen quickly found the pile of maps in the corner. Some were made up of leather, some were from enchanted paper, and some he didn't recognize.

After going through all of them, he didn't find what System prompted him. Unlike potion, he couldn't instantly recognize those maps.

"Are these all?" Heizen couldn't help but ask.

The shopkeeper looked at him and nodded.

After searching and finding nothing, Heizen paused for a moment before packing up all the maps. If he couldn't find the Ruin map, he'd buy them all and take his time looking over them later.

"How much for all of them?" He placed the maps on the table and asked.

The shopkeeper finally couldn't help it. He put down the book and weirdly asked, "Are you sure, you want them all?"

"Yes, I want them all. Tell me the price." Heizen nodded.

The middle-aged man was baffled. He had never seen such a stupid, rich prodigal in this black market before. Most of these maps were just scams and the remaining ones were incomplete.

"60 mana crystals." He still quoted the price regardless. This was business.

"Ok, I also want to look at those crystals." Heizen agreed and pointed at the carefully arranged crystals in the corner.

"Okay, okay." The middle-aged man agreed happily. Where would he find another customer like this?

This time Heizen didn't take long to find the Summoning Crystals from the pile. It was a faintly glowing orb etched with multiple floating runes.

[Name: Summoning Crystal]

[Type: Uncommon]

[Condition: 1 time consumable]

[Effect: Can summon an entity from another dimension. The entity summoned depends on your luck.]

[Flaw: The user has no control over the summon. You must subdue the entity yourself.]

"Shopkeeper, how much for this." Heizen showed the crystal and asked.

"Oh? A Summoning Crystal." This time shopkeeper knew the product.

"Young man, I won't lie to you. This is an uncommon product. You can't control the summoned entity. Also, there is no way to know what you will get." The middle-aged man warned him with a good heart.

"I know. I just want to try." Heizen nodded but still insisted on buying it.

Seeing that he wasn't persuaded, the shopkeeper didn't say anything more.

"Though this summoning crystal is an uncommon good, it is still very valuable. If you are lucky, you can get a strong beast as your pet. So, 300 mana crystals." He quoted the price without any nonsense.

"So expensive?" Heizen was really surprised. You know, though he was rich, he wasn't that rich to squander 300 crystals in these damaged products.

"Young man, Summoning crystals are very expensive. You will never find them in this backward town. The lowest level summoning crystal costs more than 1000 mana crystals in the city. You're getting it so cheap because it had problems."

The middle-aged man patiently explained.

"I can give you this crystal and those maps for 350 at most." He finalized the deal with no room for negotiation.

Heizen tried to lower the price but the man didn't budge an inch. Finally, Heizen paid 350 mana crystals and dejectedly left the store. He had to buy them even if he became poor.

Today alone, he squandered more than 500 mana crystals. If Bernard heard it, his jaw would drop to the ground. After deducting the expenses, he had around 2500 mana crystals remaining including his savings.

"Sigh, this way, I will not be able to buy a weapon and armor at Auction."

A basic rare weapon could cost as many as 1000 mana crystals. Not to mention, this was an auction.

"It would be better if the monsters below level 20 could drop the beast crystals."

He discovered that only creatures over level 20 dropped beast crystals when killed.

"Sigh, let's see if Bernard sold those loot."

Heizen sighed and was about to return when he once again heard the System prompt. But this time, the prompt seemed very familiar.

[Ding!]

[Good Luck favors you.]
